Need help with reflective paint

Well guys, after coverign the walls of my groxbox with foil i realized that it wasent a good reflecting method sense it retains alot of the heat and can creat sun spots on plant. So, today i went to a general store and got my self some spray paint, i looked and found a cheap paint which color was "GLOSS WHITE". Is this paint good? or is FLAT WHITE better? I personally think GLOSS WHITE is ok but i would like a pros opinion.

Not a " PRO " here , BUT I understand that a FLAT white is better than a glossy white, I don't really know if it makes a hell of a lot of difference though.

The way I understand it to be is you should use a Flat White paint because a Gloss White can cause heat spots just the same as using the reflective side of aluminum foil.

It might look kind of funny on your walls bongsmilie

I don't think it would make a huge difference.

If you already bought the shit just do it, if you havn't bought it yet just get flat white.

use it then go get aflat white. if you got a cheep gloss thereisn'tmuch for solids in the paint. just an fyi cheep paint of any kind is crap and almost neaver covers.

Can you take it back? Don't you have a receipt?

Spray paint is bad for this purpose, it would take a lot to really cover what's underneath and gloss is not nearly as good as flat.

The best paint is a brush or roll on regular wall paint like Behr ultra pure flat white, but it can be as espensive as just using mylar.

Or for a mylar equivalent that actually works you could just use those $2 camping space blankets from wallmart or target in the camping section.

I bought about 6 before i bought my mylar. :mrgreen:

I've used the real mylar from hydro shops before, but I'm using the space blankets now. Yea, they work quite well it's the same material but the space blankets are just thinner so they'll fold up really small.

Thanks, your post really hit home for me because I had just gone to the store yesterday and picked up a can of the paint you described, same brand, same color. It better cover good cause I am painting over a black surface, I now have silver mylar covering the walls but I am tired of having to re-tape it back up because the fans keep blowing it loose. My current grow is coming down tomorrow so I will need to get painting for my next one.

Ow, If you already have mylar up, and the walls are black..The best thing to do would be tack the mylar up. So it can't come loose, mylars your best bet.:-P
