Need help

I recently acquired 2 Indica females from a friend. They were on the brink of death, but I brought them back to health. They are currently flowering, and I want to take a clone, but I know its iffy taken them during flowering.
However, I dont wanna put it back into veg growth. Can I possibly wait until flowering completes, then regenerate the plant, put it back into veg, then take clones? All I know is I dont want this strain to die, because Ive seen its potential, and I want more than the 2 mother plants I have now. (I took 2 clones, one from each plant, though I didnt have rooting hormone, I just used water. One died, and one is still alive. Its been about 5 days now.)
Also, if I posted pictures could anyone identify the strain perhaps?

Short answer, yes it is possible. However I would try and clone now, the longer you go, the harder it becomes.

Letting it complete it's flowering cycle and regenerating the plant and then taking clones in veg is probably the best way to go - it's not ideal, but it would work. R

When you harvest the plant, just make sure you leave sufficient leafy growth on the lower part of the plant as possible to speed up it's regeneration in vegetative growth, as soon as you get some new shoots and new meristem growth, that's the time to take the clones.

It's very hard to identify plants from a picture, there are literally hundreds of different Indica strains and identifying one from another from a picture is nigh on impossible.

Good luck with your cloning.

anironymassacre, if you are going to go through the process of regenerating the plant so you can clone....while you are that far into the process, why dont you (also) complete the growth cycle and re-veg them, and than flower and harvest too. The root mass is already there, so there could be a time savings involved.

As babygro already pointed out, try to leave as many leaves as possible, especially on the lower 1/3rd of the plant, also try to leave a few of the smaller buds on the plant, near the bottom too. Feed it gowbig, or something simular, give it lights on for one full week, than cut back to 18 hours, than on to flowering.
Peace
