My plant is one week old starting on its 2nd set of fan leaves. it is currently in a plastic cup and i will transplant it once it grows its 4th set of fan leaves. Now my questions is that i bought some Schultz all purpose fertilizer 13- 13 -13 although its not water soluble. will this be a good enough fertilizer to use when my plant get to 3 weeks old or should i buy something else. Also how much should i apply and how oftern. Thanks for the help.

To be honest, I've never used a fertilizer I didn't dissolve in water first, mainly for the fear of burning due to uneven distribution of the nutrients. One thing I do know, is follow the instructions but use at 1/4 strength the first time. Slowly work your way up. (Some ppl feed every time they water, others feed every other time-- thats up to you) Just make sure you take it slow-- better to introduce a little slower then to over-fert an burn your plant.

Good luck.

That's pretty young to be feeding it ferts... At that age the soil should have enough available nutes in it for the plant. When plants are that young it is very easy to over fert. I'd hold off unless you are seeing signs of nute deficiancy.

And I agree, you should transplant to a larger container.
