Dude when I was gorilla growing in the woods I started moving shit to my locations in April so I could set up my irrigation and plant at the end of may. I recommend getting a load bearing back pack frame a couple rolls of poly film and some rope and a cheap GPS unit. Learn the art of camouflage. A small hatchet and a sharp knife will help the whole camouflage thing out quite a bit. Pack your shit in make a cache, wrap it in poly wrap.and then camo it up mark it on your gps and move the fuck on. Half a mile ain't shit!!!! You might want to go deeper in the woods. Never take the same path twice if at all possible. This is why the gps is so handy. Oh and growing with partners sux. Let us know when you get ripped off. The only reason I say that is partners always get greedy and half a mile in ain't far enough. I like to put 3 to 5 plants in one spot and then move to another spot. This way when someone comes up on your crop or the pigs snag it they don't get it all. They are really looking for the Mexican super crops so if you have 10 or 15 small 5 plant crops spread all over the forest they can never get it all. It is a lot of work but if you do it right you don't need to work for the rest of the year so it is worth it. We dug in and stayed up there 3 or 4 days a week. Good luck!

well these are pretty big bags lol and i dont think theyll even fit in one. plus i have like 40 bags i gotta hike in and there and thats 20 trips for me and my friend lol! and its like a half mile of pretty rugged land plus alot of hills. believe me i already thought of a backpack im about 2 get some military duffle backpacks there like the only thing thats big enough.

Are sure the native soil isnt sufficient? All i have to say is make sure the juice is worth the squeeze. Man, outdoor growing aint easy. And if youre spending hundreds on soil and whatever your time is worth treking back and forth all summer, just saying. I threw 4 plants out last summer and all 4 got chewed to shit by some varmen. Have you thought about pest control? If youre really committed to it then i say put up fencing and grow in pots. Have about 10-15 different plots with 3-4 plants. Do you have good seeds? Those cost money. Oh, and last but not least. Do you have the time to go out and water those fuckers every week june-aug? Are you even close to a water source? How stealth is your spot?

I would plant 4 or 5 in one spot. And then go off 1/4 - 1/2 mile. I mean a half mile is only 2640 feet. As far as the camo thing. Pack your bags in and wrap them up in poly so the weather doesn't get to it and leach all your nutes out of it before you get to plant anything in it. Cut some vegetation and camo it if so it us there when you come back to use it. I would not put any dirt in the holes till you plant so local foliage doesn't over run your planting site and use up your nutes. It is also good to wait till you plant so your soil is light and airy. Stealth is the key to getting away with an outdoor grow. You can set up fear traps to dissuade people from coming closer to your crop. A fear trap is a booby trap that doesn't hurt anyone but makes them think twice about proceeding any further. Rat traps with a shotgun shell (with the pellets removed) tied to trip wires are a real wake up. You drill a hole through the rat trap under where it slams shut just big enough for a 410 shell to slide in up to the rim. Solder a small brad on to the metal snapper thingy centered so it will strike the primer of the shell. TAKE THE PELLETS OUT OF THE TOP OF THE SHELL LEAVING THE PLASTIC WADDING OVER THE POWDER!!! replace the pellets with corn starch. This will help to keep the gun powder dry and make a very impressive cloud when detonated. String a trip wire across the most accessible paths to your grow. I used Picture frame hanging wire. Tie the wire to the release on the rat trap and put the shell through the hole. Make sure to have your thumb holding down the trap gate so it doesn't go off in you face. You could lose a finger or two if you set it off while setting it so be careful. when this thing gets set off it unleashes a thunderous roar and a big white cloud of smoke. No one gets hurt and they generally leave. Growing in the woods has gotten a lot more serious in the last ten years with the Mexicans growing huge crops and the cops responding. Plus there are those disease ridden fucking deer. Try to set up some sort of irrigation system for each plot. About the simplest way to do it is dig a pit and line it with poly. try to set it in a spot that will catch any rain run off. Keep it covered and camouflaged doing this will help to reduce evaporation. The simplest water delivery method from your res to your grow site is a wick system. run an absorbent wick through a length of hose with one end in your res and the other buried in your root ball. I know this sounds like a lot of work but think about lugging water to and from your grow. water is heavy and you don't want to go to your site a whole lot because every time you go it you leave a trail right to your grow. People make a living around here buy locating and ripping off crops. Cock suckers! To sum this whole thing up Gorilla growing is had and kinda dangerous so be careful and get ready to bust your ass for the summer. Stealth!

how many plants are 2 many for one area do u think and u lost me a little on the whole camouflage thing and on the poly

plan ahead... ya its gonna be alota work but nuffins free, not even in this game... we all work hard for what we get, jus gotta do it a more effeceint way... if ur like me and its fall rite now, u have 7-8 mnths to get that shit out... try to go now while theres no heat like choppers... with no leaves around u can get a good idea of where u wanna plant... or go early, early spring and drop it off then... go out a few times, make a few trips... like i said, "u got 7-8 mnths"... get every thing out there and holes dug b4 u bring plants in so that way its jus a trip with the plants to set them in and get out... less chances of damaging the plants with less to carry and by going out very early, ull have less chances of picking a spot for the sake of it cuz u dont wanna look any more for a spot... nuffins worse then hiking all day with all this crap and picking a shitty spot cuz ur tired and and dont wanna bring plants bak home with u... thats very frustrating and takes alot longer... like i said, plan ahead so when u bring the plants out, all ur doin is putting them in the ground, less stress that way...

sounds like a bad plan to me. Partners suck that is for sure. Moving that much soil will get you noticed even if you think you haven't been. When they fly looking for plants the area will be disturbed or un-natural looking due to your activity and they'll be doing fly overs a lot watching your spot. Making 20 trips will create a path as well. Thats a no no.
One idea is to make up some five gallon buckets of soil, and transport two a time to different locals where you want to grow. dig a hole to fit the bucket and drop the whole thing into the hole ...bucket and all. (make sure there are adequate holes for drainage.) Once the plant is up, cover all around the plant stem with leaves etc to make it all look undisturbed. never walk the same path or route but one time.

yeah i like the sled idea i seen one in the thrift store i should of got it lol my friend thought i was crazy when i told him that idea

I don't know if this has been mentioned allready as I didn't read the whole thread.
I apologize if this is being redundant but...

The best thing I've ever come across for transporting weighty objects through the woods/mountains/etc is a deer carrier.

You can get them for one man or two and they greatly simplify. Also, if you don't hunt or have any future need, you can just sell the thing on craigslist when you're done and get most of your investment back.

Good luck
