You could use an arbor press which is just a hand operated press. They are fairly cheap at princess Auto.
My father use to use a press for making paper. It was a screw type so you would just spin the handwheel. Not as much force applied like an arbor press but it had a large flat clamping area...8.5" x 11"

That would do it. But i also need something to put the hash in. Was thinking of having a friend fab one up for me out of stainless steel but...he would want to know what he was making and why...lol (he prolly wouldnt do it if he knew)
Then thought i could make one myself out of wood... got a couple ideas...
But maybe somebody here has already invented that wheel and in could just steal the idea...lol

You could use a short length of steel pipe and round bar for a die. Say the pipe is 1" dia...thats the internal diameter. So get some 7/8" round bar and a cap for the pipe. Pack the pipe then pack/compress with round bar. Keep the whole rig short enough, you could get away with a big C clamp instead of buying a press.

When I press hash, I usually just press it with a glass bottle with hot water ala Frenchy style.

Ive done something similar. But this run i am expecting close to a 1/2 lb of kief to press and i thought it might be just as easy to press in one big block and keep it all under pressure for a day or two...

There's a lot of ways to press hash, obviously your technique
would depend on how much you need to make.
I make small quantities at a time so I use a clay gun extruder.
I really like this method as I can make 1, 5, 10 or even 20 gram chunks.
I place a penny in each end to prevent leakage, which is kinda cool,
as each "hash barrell" I make has the president imprinted on every chunk of hash.
Just dont buy the cheap ones, get the heavy duty metal one like this one:
