I start on the 2nd or 3rd week of veg with 5-10, and then move up to 8-16 for flower. The first 2 weeks I just use under 500ppm of calmag and no shock. I'm using GH micro and bloom, but plan on trying jungle juice. I ph to 5.6-5.8 and then don't adjust till somewhere 6.3-6.5. Smaller reses you have to check every couple days. I have it currently going in a couple coffee cans as well as a mini RDWC and both are thriving with it. No need for grow since micro has enough nitrogen.

If hand watering from 25gal Res. Drain to waste. Better to Ph and let sit or Ph when I put into watering pale? IV been phing when I use it. Haven't seen to many problems yet. Thanks in advance.

It all depends when you are adding your nutes. You don't want to PH until you have your nutes mixed in as they will affect the PH of the water!

Like I said. I mix up Lucas formula in 25 gal Res. When I get ready to use then I Ph. Last me about a week. Its drain to waste. What I wanted to know for convenience, is it better to keep lying down like u do with a tipical Res. Or only Ph when I get ready to feed them. The only resonance I Ph when I us it is because I'm watering veg with 5.8 and flower with 6.0. Cant do that with one Res. Like I said to. Haven't seen any problems yet. But if its beter for plants then I'll get two Res with different ph. And when I check runoff Ph is .2 within the Ph I water with.

Lying was supposed to be phing. Sorry. Plus I only use 4gal a day. I Ph that in a watering jug. Not the 25gal Res. Is this OK or no? Thanks.

The Lucas formula is a simple method for mixing nutrient solution in proportions that are tailored to the cannabis plants nutrient uptake profile. You can mix a Lucas formula from any nutrient brand, but I use the three-part Flora line General Hydroponics (Grow, Micro, Bloom). One of the first things you'll notice when applying the Lucas formula with General hydroponics flora line is that you dont have to use any of the Grow formula, And this is not a mistake. The Micro part of this three-part line has all of the Nitrogen a garden needs, and since the Lucas formula is a "less is more" strategy, you can skip using the Grow part altogether. You should also change your reservoir once a week and top it off with pH-adjusted water daily. This feeding system works extremely well in hydroponics systems because of the low ppm of the nutrient solution it is unlikely to clog lines and or build up salts. Also, since there is no organic element to this mix it give a great opportunity to use hydrogen peroxide (H2o2) in your water. The hydrogen peroxide will kill off any algae or fungus that can grow in a reservoir, and it also releases oxygen to the root zone. Great results can be achieved with this simple mix, all you need are three things: GH Micro, GH Bloom, and Hydrogen peroxide. I found my results nothing less then spectacular.

I have searched many many threads on the lucas formula. somewhere along the grapevine lucas' formula was twisted.the original formula is 0/5/10 (gmb) per gal when using low lights 400w or less.and 0/8/16 per gal is for hid 400w or more. It's not 0/5/10 for veg and 0/8/16 for flower. I mixed and matched lights did the"so called"formula under hid 1000w hps (0/5/10 veg-0/8/16 flower) and I did the true formula. Hands down throughout the whole cycle the true formula plants out performed those on the "other"formula. But that's just what I found.

ive been using lucas formula for a couple years. i feed both my veg (floro cfl lights) and flower (600 w hps) lucas formula. i use hard water micro (8ml) and bloom (16ml) per gallon with my tap water (225 ppm). i use the add back calculator to keep my res full. i normally clean out the res after every flower cycle.

thats it.
