Hey I've been reading up on growing for a while now and I am a little overwhelmed with the possibilities so maybe some of you can help me narrow it down. Basically I need to grow in the smallest space possible for personal weed. Should I sog? Should I go hydro or soil? Also I want to try to set up some kind of perpetual harvest setup. Also I will probably have to use mostly CFL's due to energy consumption restrictions. Any ideas?

How big of an area you can you spare at the very most. What room do you have to work with, then I can help answer your question.
I've got an average to large sized closet but I can't use the entire thing on the off chance that a guest in my house opens the door and sees the plants and lights just sitting there so I was thinking of making a box the size of two large rubbermaid containers one stacked on top of the other. I had seen a thread on here where a guy made a box by cutting the lid out of the bottom rubbermaid and the bottom out of the top and sealing them together and I kind of like that idea... Thanks for the help btw...

Go soil, SOG, do Indica strains, and last but not least; to go perpetual just keep the strongest of each strain and keep them under lights 18/6 as mother's to take cuttings.

My opinion:
Get a 250 watt HPS light.
Grow sog, 8 plants, flower straight from rooted clone.
Every two months rough yeild around 2-3 ounces at first, maybe a QP after getting in dialed in.
If you end up with more room, then you can either veg them longer or add more clones to the mix for future grows....
Also I would highly reccomend the HPS simply because it is a single point of light, whereas with CFL's or flouro tubes it would be ridiculous trying to be all careful lifting the lid off.
Also look into something call a V - SCROG.

You can check out my thread about my rubbermaid growbox if you need some ideas. CFL's CAN easily be made practical, and easy to get around if you take the time to plan the best way to assemble.
