You need to stop fucking around with electrical things if you dont even know the voltage coming out of your wall bro...yer gonna light yourself up like a christmas tree...ok i got a new power supply box for a pc grow.
any ways, I wired the green wire from the 20 pin and the black wire together. The two wires are twisted pretty good. But when i plug it in, the fans turns for like 2-3 seconds and turns on.
help!
2) My 92mm fan wont fit in any of the power supply box slots. Can u wire it in? the fan has a black, white and red fan
thx
EDIT: its on 115V should i try 220v? im in america. and idk if 220 is normal
I've wired up a few power supplies to run continuously on several occasions So...it depends on the type of powersupply...some use proprietary pinouts to the motherboard(i.e. dell is a whorebag and does it keep it the standard 20+4)ok its not 220 hehe idk i just asked cause nothing is working. nebody know nething on the subject?
3 pin adapters? wire black to black...red to red...on the 12v line for a fan...if using 12v PC fans...if you are using a standard ATX power supply you should be able to just ground the green PS-ON pin to any of the black wires to have it turn on when you plug it in...im thinking, since i dont have the fan hooked-up yet to the pwoer supply, that maybe the power supply gives power then only keeps it constant if something is using power. Like maybe the power box clicks power and knows there is nothing being used, so it turns off? its all i can think of. Now i also know i need to buy some 3 pin adapters! llol
white wire is the RPM comm channel...i don't think you'll be to worried with that in this applicationintresting. Yes is 3 pin (my fan) and the power supply box doesnt have 3 So your saying i can just rip the red and black wire out, then twist them to the power supply black and red? What about the white wire. the fans come with a white wire to. do they not need power? And when would i tie the fan wires to? would it madder which black and red on the power supply box
