I changed my grow box from 2 23 watt cfl to 3 bulbs yesterday. Ive got a computer fan in the box and a more smaller hole in the box for air. Now after 10 hours of light my plant looks almost dead. It was at least 5 inches from the bulbs, and im not sure what happened. Did it get too hot? What can/should i do now in an attempt to save it. Ive dunked the leaves in water and its currently in its night cycle so lights are off. Should i leave it in darknes for a while longer and see if it can recover at all or would light maybe give it some strength? Looks pretty hopeless but any tips or help would be great. Please refrain from just posting "its dead, give it up".

I dont think its drooping from over watering btw

Welcome to the forum. I've had plants look that bad once. Do you have a moisture meter? Did you ph your water? do you have good drainage? do you have a thermometer? Did you use some fertilizer? If so how much?

This happened hours after installing the new lights and fixing the box so that less air gets in. Its gotta be because of that, question is what do i do now. Fertilizer has not been added, the water i use is drinking quality and theres no ph r thermostat. Like i said must be the heat an am looking for help on next step in trying to save it.

ummmm...........look very close at the tiny grow tip and it's little tips--how destroyed are these. If they look healthy place it 2' away from your lites and see what happens. Go out and by a thermometer yesturday-u can get a cheap 1 for $10 bucks. If the grow tip is smoked dude, your wasting ur time. Here's something else to think about, any stress u cause your plant before it shows it sex will raise it chances for becoming male. On average you'll get a 50% ratio m/f. that's (and nuking your plants) is the reason you should start more than 1 plant--what happen's if it doesn't sprout? If it's a feminized seed stress on ur scale most likely will turn it hermi. Good luck

I would start by getting better ventilation. Make sure that your plants get plenty of fresh air...this is very important especially when they are in a small space. Also you need to get a ph kit and check the ph of your water. These can be found at pet stores for ph'ing water in fish tanks, or at garden centers. Personally i ph my water between 6.5 and 6.8. Next, how often do you water and how do you determine when the plants need water. The soil needs to be dry all the way to the bottom before you water. You can get a moisture meter at Wal-Mart for $5.00. In the mean time, get those plants some fesh air.:peace:

fixed the ventilation, had the fan inside the box overnight so that it wouldnt annoy my girlfriend. Will leave it the way it was before from now on. Id say its at 30% chance itll survive.
