I have an idea for a set up and would like to know if my idea will work if what you can recommend. I AM ON A BUDGET!

for the last year i have grown only under CFL had nice results BUT my demand exceeds my supply.

my idea is CFL, LED, and HPS. 4 strains all indicas and just clone them.

for my veg i was thinking for a 90w LED with 4 CFL bulbs just to veg the clones for about a month in a 2x2 area with mylar.
I would take my clone cuts and put them in my clone chamber which is just a dome with 2x 23w(65k) cfls.

My flower room is where i need help BAD.

I want to do a 3.5 x 3.5 or a 4x4 area I have decided upon a 400w hps/ mh kit and 4 cfl bulbs as a supplement
I want to have 4 plants that are a month into flowering with the 4 plants that vegged for a month. on the outside of the 4 older flowers. a continues monthly grow is what im looking for all 4 of my indica strains finish in about 8wks.

The help i am seeking is should i go with a 600w instead of the other set up and keep the 4 cfl supplment or am i doomed. I cant afford to run a 1k bulb. I grow in soiled 5gal buckets. i would rather not change my organic set up. i need help with the lighting issue. I would like to go SOG.

so far my method is both veg and flower are only 2x2 and im only harvesting every 2months. about 4oz or an oz per strain and it goes to quick for me to meet demand.

also would totes do me more justice for a soil SOG or just keep the buckets all strains are almost the same height. if so how big of tote should i look into.?

ps. as i figured it out right now my set up would only run 750w total anything under 1k is fine.. but cant go over 1kw with the new damn "digital monitors" from the power company dont wanna lift any ideas. my set up right now only runs 500w of cfl.

LED lights are where its at. I suggest using LED lighting and even supplementing it with even high power CFLs. LED will Help yield alot of bud.

1 600 watt bulb will outperform anything else your thinking of putting in there, if you can control the heat.

Hell yea, a 600w in a 3x3 or 4x4 is perfect.

Also, for SOG, if you could, don't veg at all. Just get the clones rooted and then throw them in the flower room.

This will keep the canopy short and also allow you to fit more plants.

if i throw a 600w in there would i need the cfl bulbs or no? and can any find a post on best controlling the heat? i have a 400w in a 2x2 and moved it out cuz the HEAT killed me.

as for the LED that inital cost for a full LED grow is outragouse and ALOT of the sites are misleading. I know you can veg awsome with LED but power is needed for flowering. so im avoiding a full LED grow, tell they can match atleast a cfl cost.

seriously how many LED would you need to match a 600w hps in a 4x4? as far as yield?

I like to let my clones veg atleast 2-4wks i think it helps in end of flower and production.

it will show you how good LED are. There are a lot of misconceptions about LED. Best way to regulate heat. But if your set on CFL lighting add more fans or air conditioner to room, to drop temps. As for 600 watt grow gonna be hps lighting.

The difference between a 400 and 600 is huge... even with supplemental lighting. You will however need more of everything... aircool, exhaust and air conditioning.

3.5 x 3.5 for a 600 is beautiful... beginner... 7 oz... get it dialed in... 9 oz... get some nice high yielding genetics... 12 - 15 oz. You can do better if you really excel in genetics, growth and dialing in your setup. I wouldn't expect to pass 1lb with a 600 until you have had a good 3 yrs (12-15 grows) of experience.

I would think 2 strains for a 600hps flower is more than enough.

If I may suggest two strains... Green Crack from sickmeds and Bubba OG from Dr GT. Both feminized... if you take the time to really select the best plant from the pack... you will be setting very nice.

The great thing about the GC is that you can harvest it early (48 days) and have some nice cerebral buds, or you can harvest later (56) and have some stonier... however, GC is Sativa influenced, however, I know a ton of indica fans who love it all the same. It yields buckets.

I know you can veg awsome with LED but energy is required for blooming. so im preventing a complete LED develop, tell they can go with at least a cfl price. seriously how many LED would you need to go with a 600w hps in a 4x4? as far as yield? I like to let my imitations veg at least 2-4wks i think it allows in end of plant and development.
