Need some advice on nutrients for my SOG w/Soil

Hi all, I've just started my first Sea Of Green in soil using 6.5L square pots. Rooted clones go directly into the blooming stage.

I need some advice on what nutrients to use. At the moment I have "Schultz Plant Food Plus" with the NPK at 10-15-10. I have the option of getting GHE Flora Bloom with the NPK at 0-5-4. Does the Schultz have more P&K or am I not reading the number correctly ? and also, would it be better to have some level of Nitrogen for a SOG since they need to grow from a rooted clone ?

ps. I have limited access to good nutrients where I live... other then ordering off the web.

Thanks in advance...

You might get a reaction due to changing your nutes.
If your are using Shultz go with the Bloom 10-60-10.
If it is working for you don't change it...
you still need N during flower. if you go with Gh ,get the 3 parts system...has all available nutes for flower...it is what I use!
Hope i helped?

thanks for the replies.

trichlone fiend: that compost tea is interesting but I don't think I'll go in that direction.

Lime73: I think I'll have a better look into these Gh products since they are available to me. I guess it contains different neuts for weeks 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 right?

Yup, they have aprox. amounts to use on label.
I use 1/2 dose...I'm using Mg soil so I have nutes in my soil already so I only 1/2 dose my nutes.
What kinda soil you got?

Wow you have to use 6.5 liter pots for a soil SOG ?

I use 1.7 liter hempys and get great results.

Xare: Well I have 40 pots under 6x 400w hps lamps. I would have to water then a few times a day I think if my pots where 1.7L. Until now I always used 4 15L pots under each lamp along with a veg stage. but those days are behind me :)

Na, its every other day. Because hempys have an internal reservoir.

But I now have drip irrigation that does watering automatically.

I just fill up the main rez every week or so.

Ah ok I understand.
I'm going to give this system I got now a try but I've got my eye on a flood&drain system. I might start off with one unit and see how it works. it's size is 120cm x 60cm. If that works out for me then I can fit four of them in my area.

would you mind describing this drip system? I thought of making a autofeeder for soil but am looking for ideas?

6 plants per light isnt really a sog.

A real SOG has a minimum of 1 clone per square foot.

A big rez with a pump in it. Pumps fresh nute water through a filter and 1/2 inch hose that is layed out in the garden. 1/4 inch tubes coming from the 1/2 inch tube to each plant with a dripper at the end.

Pump comes on for 5 to 10 mins and gives the plants an equal dose of nutes.

my pots are 18cm x 18cm a the top and 23cm tall. that's 7" x 7". I don't see how turning off some of my lamps will transfer my system to a SOG. I'm just using alot of light.

Ahh close enough I guess. Overlapping 400's for extra light intensity, but you will have to keep the plants very short because 400's have weak penetration.

Add 9 plants and do 7 rows of 7 maybe.

I have been thinking the same thing. right now I have 5 rows of 8 but I might be able to get away with having 6 rows of 8. I can't really fit a 7 x 7 setup in my area but it comes down to the same thing.

thanks for the help

sounds awesome Im definately doing that. I was going to run it like a drip drain system,,, i wasnt going to use a rez though....How often to feed??or is that depending on strain and shit? Thanks and +REP

Don't use gh nutrients if u want awesome yield with pure quality go for advanced nutes or cyco nutes ....the difference is incredible also use primordial solutions in your rez....true blooms, rootemantary, sea of green.....if using soil use nectar for the gods nutrients if ur interested in quality....there website basically says fuck yield were all about the quality

Don't fuck with Shultz ....poor yield...poor quality, tastes like shit advance nutrients is the way to go ...actually not even use consissuer a and b with cyco additives basically replacing the grow and bloom with advanced nutes and I'll save money and have incredible harvests...lots of hand pains trimming the nugs that will come off your plant
