Need some assistance. Vertical grow? or not?

The closet i will be using is in the rear of a one bedroom duplex. Its a extra room that houses the hot water tank. Only front access so scrog is out of the question.

The equipment i will be using is one 400w hps cooltube with a 175cfm 4inch inline fan, a 4x10 carbon scrubber also. Going to be adding a 10k btw ac. Need to purchase an additional fan for that, may use the 175 on the ac and get something a little beefier for the light.(also to give me a small allowance to add an additional 600w light in the future.)

Room size is 3.5x3x7.5 ft

I have a seperate veg cab for mothers and clones. Going to try a perpetual harvest, either every 1 month (ideal in my situation) or every 2. Havnt done all the math on that yet, but thats a diff topic.

I was interested on a vertical grow (thanks DST) and thought that i need all info i can get. So i did some research, found a few, but they mosly do scrogs. What would be, in terms of efficiency, the best bang for my buck for my situation? Number of shelf areas? Is the area too small for the requirments of a vert grow?

I figured that dual hids are key to a vert, If you recomend that i get another light, i will.(Dont want to break 1k watts tho due to bill)

I basicly want to pick your brains of the good ideas and techniques. That way my notourious nature to make mistakes will be minimal.

what i was workin with last grow that didnt go so great because of temps, and me being too busy with work. Stupid work.

i would set that room up,just like DST's room,
hang that tube vertical,go ahead and get that 600,to go with that 400.
,put 3-5 racks on all 3 walls,with one gal pots.

then work out your strain.

Helps a bunch thanks! So i just stuff as many plants as i can on those 3-5 racks?

Put the 600 on the bottom?
What type of material should the shelves be made of? (I like the ones with holes in them like DST has, seems logical)

Hmm lets say 3 racks, on 3 walls = total of 9, each rack is ~3 sq ft = ~27 one gallon pots?!?!? Thatd be amazing, 15g a plant i would be happy.

So the "stuff i need to get" list is... 600w ballast, bulb, and socket (already have another cooltube) 400cfm 6inch inline fan, some 6inch ducting. Hot water tank insulator. Wood and brackets for AC mounting. and 2 6x10inch duct thingys (flange? no umm shit i cant remember)

Just writing this down so i can use it for a reference (and a reminder)

i would try to put 5 1gal pots,on each rack,maybe 4 on the side racks,and 5 of the back racks.

Third pic looks like an interrogation room.. the duct tape doesn't help.

Would the floor count as a rack? I seen that DST had a sog on the floor of his..

Haha, it sure does. Had to use the chair to help me mount the light. And for the duct tape, not sure why it was there, i didnt use any, i did use metalic tape....

you could also grow 5-6 plants, top and train them and get a nice sog going, 4-5oz per plant easy
