Well I am new to the earth juice products and decided to use it "The entire line"Grow-Bloom Cat- Meta K-Hi Brix and ran into some major problems. I been growing in soil and it was working great in veg but as soon as I started to bud them out in like week 2 or 3 all my fan leaves have been turning yellow from the bottom of the plant and it's moving up. It's clear that there is something wrong and I don't know how to fix it. I have been bubbling my mix for 36 to 48 hours and my PH was still really low so I been adding like 1tbls natural ph up by earth juice to bring it back up. Now I don't know if I should add more Grow to my mix to add more nitrogen or what should I do?Can I do that in this point in budding? I have 3 diffrent strains budding right now and all the fan leaves are turning yellow. Any ideas? please help! I'm going on week four of budding right now and don't know what I should. Aloha..

What 'recipe' are you using for you grow. I found this old guild by 3lb (a much respected grower) and I haven't had any problems at all.
All value given are per gallon:
Which leads us to our “standard” full strength Earth Juice grow recipe.

1 to 2 TBSP Grow
1 tsp Bloom
1 tsp Catalyst (uniquely called Xatalyst here in Canada for some odd reason )
(all ingredients are added to a gallon of water . . . )

The only difference between this and the prior mix is this one has an extra boost of Meta K and Microblast to make the feeding even more complete.
1-2 TBSP Grow
1 tsp Bloom
1 tsp Catalyst
1 tsp Meta-K
1 tsp Microblast

We like to use something along the lines of the following recipe for the first couple weeks of flowering:
1 TBSP EJ Grow
1 TBSP EJ Bloom
1 tsp Catalyst

Mixing an Earth Juice Bloom formula for middle or late bloom can be as easy as:
1 TBSP EJ Bloom
1 tsp EJ Catalyst

The flowering micro-mix usually goes together like this:
1 TBSP Bloom
1 tsp Catalyst
1 tsp Meta-K
1 tsp Microblast

Add the grow, it's necessary with the bloom for the N.

The particular *blend* you'll have to work out for your particular strain, but you'll get there.

I had the same problem the first time I ran EJ. The first time I did amendments also (LC's soiless mix). Kept running out of N. Took a couple grows to sorta get dialed in. LOL I still run short, but that's better than dumping too much on them.

So It's ok to add some nitrogen this late in flowering? I won't mess things more up by doing that right?

No, just don't add a shit ton and over compensate.

You could do a 1/2&1/2 grow and bloom, or one feed of grow only. I used 1/3 grow and 2/3 bloom to equal full strength, but nothing is set in stone.

With EJ I would suggest still using the grow for a few weeks into flowering, tapering off each feeding. In your situation, it shouldn't hurt as long as you don't do a heavy feeding. Also keep in mind that late in flowering the plant will yellow naturally as it uses the stored nitrogen. I like to see about half fall colors at harvest time.

here's what i see. the pots look a little on the small side for a full length grow. also low on nitrogen. you should add the grow formula with the bloom until about the 5th week, but taper off as previuosly stated.
i'd also take wet dog's advice on the ratio.

Yeah my pots are pretty small for the plants ....never got the chance to transplant them I got excited cause they grew so fast in veg. Thanks for all the advice....I'll do what you guys said and hope for the best! I believe in organics and will stick with it. Mahalo much everyone!

You know you should be using Grow through flowering until the last 4 weeks or so. That deficient in N your plants would never make it to the end healthy.

I had a lot of problems with the EJ, it does some crazy things to PH. Trying backing off the EJ and trying a top dressing of worm castings and just water for a bit until it straightens out.. shouldn't take long. Use the EJ much lighter than the bottle says and only when your plants are asking for it or it can be too much.

Earth Juice does have an acidic pH when mixed, but its overall effects on the medium's pH is minimal (usually) as those acids are neutralized, when the roots convert the nutrients to food. I do recommend adding 1 tbsp. dolomite lime per every gallon of soil mix, if you are using Fox Farms soils, I'd go with 1 tsp. per gallon of soil, it really seems to help stabilize the overall soil pH to mid to high 6's.

Grow & Bloom are designed to be used in conjunction with each other, not as a replacement for one another. I add 1 tsp. of Grow per gallon of water, along with 2 tbsp. Bloom, until the final week or two.

I really like Catalyst (used sparingly), and use it once every other week, I also suggest Hygrozyme too. The combination really seems to allow me to get the most out of plants in smaller pots (fabric).

Some strains will exhibit potassium issues with EJ. Just add Meta-K (it is the only time I ever use it), or another potassium supplement.

that's my 2¢. :weed:
