Need some Help - Aerogardner...

I am a true first timer, just set up an aerogard. I am using the garden starter trey to get the little ones going until they are ready to be transplanted. I am using some seeds that were given to me from a friend. I would like to get a little more experienced before attempting with some nicer seeds that i have ordered. I don't want to use them or attempt to plant them until I can get a little better handle on what I should be doing.

I am wondering if anyone knows how long it should take before the seeds should begin to sprout? It's been about 10 days and I haven't noticed anything. Did I screw something up, or should I be doing something? Could the seeds be bad? I placed my seeds in grow sponges that I got with my aerogarden. I have the settings on the aerogarden set to vegatables. I have not added any nutrients to the water... was this a huge no no? Should I have just skipped the garden starter trey and planted in bio-dome pods...

I've seen a lot of interesting setups and beautiful plants in photos. I am hoping someone can tell me what I did wrong... Or if I just need to be a little patient and give the seeds a little more time? Is the aerogarden the way to go, or would I get better reseults from a different setup? Any infor or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch,

Sounds good, thank you very much for the tip...

I have begun to germinate two different ways. I have a batch soaking in a cup of distilled water. How long should I let soak before moving to a damp towel... or should I move to soil/foam sponge(aerogardening) straight from the cup? I also have a batch wrapped in a damp towel that was dipped in distilled water. How will I know when the seeds have completed the germination process and are ready to rock? What changes to the babies appearance should I be on the lookout for? I do not want to pull them too early or too late.

I will be uploading photos and entering the step by steps throughout the process... I am hoping with a lot of hard work, some help from the experts on here, and the gods of toke I will be successful in the end. fingers crossed...
