Need some help with grow

Hey guys I am a n00b and this is my first post here. I want to start growing my own medicine indoors and found this site with its wealth of info. What I am looking for is a list of everything that I will need to get started with a grow of about 20 plants or so. I tried to search but couldnt find a concise list, I am trying to keep on a decent budget for this first grow and then start upgrading to more plants and better equipment.

Is it better to just buy some clones from the club to start growing and then make one into a mother plant to take more clones from?

Or should I start from seeds?

Also how much does each plant usually yield?

Thanks for the advice and pointers I really appreciate it.

I'd like to keep it at around $500 or so for this first grow, but if thats not enough I might be able to pull together more funds.

ok what about the electric bill cost becuase for 20 plants you will need alot of equiptment like lighting, cooling,nutes intake fans 4 20 plants you would have to probs spend more money

for sure. I guess it doesn't really have to be 20 plants I was just kinda throwin that number out. How much total bud do you think 20 plants would produce? Also how much would I be looking to spend to get 20 plants up and growing?

no way 20 plant set up for $500. and i'd strongly advise starting with only a couple of plants so you don't get overwhelmed. you're eventually going to want separate veg and flower rooms, so an easy way to start is to go with a hps/mh combo light in the 400/600 watt range for both veg and flower. then on later grows you can add a stronger hps light, probably two 1000 watt lights for 20 adult plants, and use your first light for veg only.

in addition to the light, you need to handle ventilation with fans and ducting, odor control with a carbon filter, nutes and misc such as ph meter,moisture meter, etc. Purchase options go from brick or web hydro stores as the most expensive to ebay/craigslist for good deals.

Sounds good, I will check out those links, thanks for the info. Also how much total cured marijuana would 20 plants produce

well your weight has to do with alot of diff things... like strain, the nutes, and just plane doing it... there is a lot more so do your homework then do the trail run and see how you do..and if all goes well and you want to go alittle bigger then do so but by that time you will have a better idea of what you are getting into..and also get some more funds because the last thing you want to do is cut your self short...

to start with count on something like .25 (ok first grow) to .5 (outstanding first grow) grams per watt of flowering light. so if you were running two 1000 watt lights over 20 plants that would be 17 to 35 ounces. as you gain knowledge and skills your yield will go up.
