Need some help with roots.

For nutrients ya....but not for hygrozyme, it has like no ppm content, it won't hurt to add more. It will also work faster when you add more for the most part...well your definitely going to see results faster.

I mean read the bottle it says you can use 6ml per gallon just for seedlings and cuttlings, so you can put more than 5ml per gallon for sure, no worries.
 
grrr. Went down to check this morning and the clear plythium slime was back in full force. Of coarse you know, This means war! I added another 20ml of hygrozyme. Flushed the res again, re-did nutes, ph etc. Cleaned roots, re-added hygrozyme. And this time i left the door to my grow box open with a fan in front of it. Its 25 outside and prob 60 in the room where the box is. There is no way it will be able to get over 70 now. Water is still cool to touch, Moved light up 6 inches.

Like i said, its fucking war! damn pythium is pillaging my land and raping my women! seems the preferred method of rape is via suffocation... lol DIE PLYTHIUM!

Yeah like I said prevention is key because getting rid of it is a bitch! Good luck, hygrozyme works like a charm so hopefully everything will be ok.
 
Shit. Went back down there (about 24 hours later). Roots are 100% covered in slime again (still clear slime, not brown).

So i flush, clean etc.. and its back in FULL force 20 hours later after i did all my fixes. I dunno. I think its time to trash this grow and throw everythign out. I feel ive ruled everything out and it seems to just re-appear in full force in under 1 day regardless of what i do.

How long for Hygrozyme to do something and show some signs of working? I really dont want to waste time with this infected grow, that clearly isnt getting better, when i can just start over...

check this out, i built an aero-tub from a rubbermaid, anyhows my temps got a lil too high and it got crazy brown and slimey just like yours, once u clean off the brown snot, so it dont float around in the water, keep changing the rez every 2 days, after about 4 days you will soo a ton of new small white roots coming through, at first i didnt think hygrozyme was gonna help-too far gone, well HYGROZYME is the SHIT!!!! i have the strongest root system ever after 2 weeks...like i said be patient and for the first 10 days change the rez every 2 days till you have nice long white roots, trust me bro hygrozyme will be in every grow from now on, what it does is it turn the old infected roots into more slime so dont let that phaze you, its just breaking down those roots, thats why i recommend changing the rez so often, one of the people who told me to use hygrozyme claims to maintain rez temps from 77-81F, my rez runs at 72-74 and now i am running my larger aero system, i was gonna scratch the whole hydro idea and go back to dirt if it wasnt for the hygrozyme, 8010ML/gal and your straight
 
as for stunted growth, yea you wont notice any new foliage growth until them roots are white, dude my clones are on fire right now, i got shoots on top of shoots, also make sure you have an air pump in your rez

Dude, yer flushing to much and not giving the HygroZyme time to work. It takes about a day or 2 for new roots to start growing and about a week to 10 days for the HygroZyme to eat away all the old roots which are infected. Yes you will lose all the old roots, but it's ok the plants can handle it.
Stop the panic and let it work.
I used the full 15 ml per gallon the 1st week and the 8ml per gallon thereafter on every res change. bongsmilie
 
guys im not a noob. There are airstones under each plant.

I use Flora Nova products.

Also, my roots are white, not brown.. they are slightly tan from Flora nova nutes, but roots are not rotten, or brown.

I don't know where people got this from or why it isn't discussed about how bad it is, but airstones should NOT be placed in ANY system. There is something about airstones and how they disipate oxygen that actually breaks down your nutrients. If you go to most of any big nutrient company they will say NOT to use any airstones because they cause nutrients to break down. Although, like I said it is just something about the airstones, you can still put the oxygen hose straight into the water, but otherwise its strongly advised against.

thats only for organic nutes, the extra oxygen has oxygenate good bacteria therefore nullifying the effects of the organic nutes. if you are doing DWC or Aero, you should be using chem nutes anyways...but im sure i'll hear some debate on that one:weed:
 
wile ive never heard of that before it doesnt matter. I have 3ft long hoses with holes in them .. i use those. I just say airstones cause its easier than explaining.

Roots look like crap. Water in res is getting a little foggy white. Im going to let the hygrozyme do its thing (hopefully)

Plants, other than the roots, look great. No droppy leafs, only a few yellow. Havent seen any progress in growth, but with the plythium i wasnt expecting any.

Is there a reason why you are not using Hydrogen Peroxide to kill plythium?

I have overcome it myself, lowering res temp and h202.
Went down the same road as you, had sucess with the excact specs and then Pythium got me.
Any thoughts on the low grade plastic we use? can it be a factor?

Feel for you with the delay, lucky you are still veging.

If using 3% H2O2, then it's 17 mL\L. If using 35% it's 1.7 mL\L. You can use it with HygroZyme, howeve since I started using HygroZyme I haven't had to use H2O2. H2O2 won't kill pythium, it will only somewhat control it.

You will have to source that Square, h202 kills everything, your skin also if you leave on to long LOL.

There inlays the problem, can cause root damage as well.

Treating your res water with the h202 before you place in system is important.

That could be where the spores are coming from.

I applied with a spray bottle directly to the roots.

Get the temp down and follow a more traveled path, Earl and a few others have it dialed in (DWC).

Super insulating your res (tin foil is for hats).
Temp never over 70 and h202.

Give them non-physcodelic spores an ass kick Beer Dude.

i wish people would get off h202, hygrozyume works jsut fine, just the fact that your plants look good shows you that it is working, the roots are feeding from that slime stuff you see on it, it will seem to get worse before it looks better, the bigger root mass you have the quicker your plants will eat the byproduct of the enzymes eating away at the pith....

trust me, jsut stick to the hygrozyme, and add 10ml/gal more every four days until its gone

you don't have to worry about ppm because hygrozyme is like 5-10 ppm, seriously, i just changed my water on sat, i have 14 gallons, i used 200ml hygro, and just this morning i added another 200ml....trust bobby
