Need some ideas on where to dry

Hey guys. Have done a ton of reading on the correct process, and much thanks to Fdd for his tutorial on harvesting and curing, but I am running into a problem regarding setting up my personal space for drying/curing and would like some feedback.

Recently I had a stormfront remove a branch from one of my plants that was sizable enough that I wanted to dry/cure it (as well as use it as a test for how the potency was coming along). I decided to use my insulated attic as a drying area.

Temperatures here reach highs in the upper 70s/low 80s this time of year, so I thought the attic would be a fine place to use as its temps are usually only about 10 degrees higher than the outside (at the most). Unfortunately, the branch dried in only two days, which is far to short of a time if you want maximum taste and I believe the bud has dried so much that it will not cure. I have removed the bud from the attic and have gone ahead and put it in glass jars, but I believe it is now too dry to even cure.

So, the attic doesn't look as if it is going to work. With that out of the way, what sort of area inside should I use? No problem with drying in the house as it is mine.

My second choice is to use the guest bedroom as a drying spot. Would that work? Or do I have to build a drying room with closely monitored humidity and temperature?

The central a/c unit can maintain the correct temps for drying (between 65 and 75) but I have no idea what the humidity level is inside my house. Ideas?

Yeah, use your house. Use the thermostat to regulate the environment - you got it =)

I, like lots of people, dry inside a cardboard box that has several strings running through it to hang on. It helps create a little enivornment or whatever to slow things down
