Need some info on drying

Depending on your temps you want a dark room with a small fan not blowing on the buds, temps between 65F-75F and RH 45-55%. Dry for atleast 5 days for a nice slow dry.

Now I have a question to add. After buds have finished drying and they are put in glass to dry, how long does it normally take for they plant smell to go away and the "bud aroma" to develope?

I burp daily for a few mins a day the first week. Then after that every other day for three more weeks. I just harvested and I'm on day 3 of a cure. Just making sure this schedule will be ok

Burp every few hours during the first week.

I start curing before the stem snaps.

Do a dummy run if you can with just one or two bottom stems so you can get better dialed in with regards to drying times, humidity etc in your space/environment.

Your drying time could be longer/shorter than standard.

You can use the findings of your experiment to better guide you in.

My bud only smells like grass/hay if I dry it too fast. I have never seen a smell return after it has been over dried. The buds should smell like...buds. Depending on the strain this can vary widely but they develop the smell in flowering and retain it through cure. It may "mature", become more complex or intensify but it is always apparent.

As a newer grower I use this method to dry and it works awesome for me. After 4-5 days in these conditions I jar my buds and burp them just as the others have suggested, and every time by the 14th day of being in the jars my buds have lost all traces of the plant smell and just smell like the fruity goodness that is pineapple express.

Very simple rule. You want to dry your buds as slowly as possible without getting mold.

While buds are wet, chemical reactions are happening. Carbs and sugars are getting broken down. If you take wilted vegetables in your crisper and stick them out in the yard in some dirt what happens? They come back to life. Or at least appear to because they weren't really dead. Your buds aren't dead after you chop them and hang them, put them in a shoebox whatever. It takes time to totally die. Why is this important? Because while a cell is alive, it is consuming nutrients, nutrients which if left in your weed would taste like shit. Even after the plant is dead, chemical reactions are still happening as long as the moisture is there to faciliate them. At the same time the conditions which favor decay favor those who live on decay, fungus.

I've had weed sitting around for 2, 3, 4, 6 months and I'm beginning to believe it takes up to 4 months to cure fully.
