need some info on vortex fans

ok 2 things is it ok to uese a reducer I'm getting a 6" fan but the holes in my tent are 4"

2end do I need a fan speed controler or is it ok to have it running full blast all the time

Hey man, I own a 6" vortex, by reducer do you mean a 4" flange so you can run 4" ducting?? also I think that a fan speed controller is a personal choice, I dont have a fan speed controller for mine I always just let mine run full blast. but I have a 4x4 tent and I can only hear it one room away.

that's exactly what I mean and I just so happen to be getting a 6" one for my 4x4 tent. so if ur not haveing any problems I shouldn't either thanks :)

You can definitely run the 4" flanges and ducting with your 6" Vortex.

I would recommend calculating your air ventilation needs by CFM and cubic feet of the room. Calculation #'s and explanation here.

It sounds like your tent is probably only going to need that big Vortex running at 2/3rds or less overall power to clear the room quickly enough for healthy conditions but make the calculations!

The fan speed controller will reduce noise and electrical costs.

Cheers!
