Hey guys, need some help/advice.

So i usually grow outside but i want to start growing inside, and yesterday i went to Home depot to look at some cfl bulbs and i found these ecosmart 100 Watt equivalent, 1600 lumens. My question is are these bulbs good for growing?

I also already have a sun blaster T5 24Watt, 2232 lumens. so i can use this light with the ecosmart bulbs also?

thanks in advance guys.

they are good, i've used the older home depot bulbs, different branding, probably same manufacturer
still using them 3 years later with good veg results, if they work good, i won't throw them out
cfl's are excellent in veg, and pretty good in flower for smaller grows, which is what i do, bad state for bigger grows

You want at least 50 actual watts per plant with 100 to 200 watts being ideal. I am guessing the cfls you mentioned are 23 to 27 watts actual. Keep the plants short as the smaller cfls have only 4 inches of good light coming out. With reflectors and using y splitters you can double that to 8 inches.

You can just cut up a beer or soda can in half leaving a ring on one end for a reflector on the small cfls.

Yes you are right they are 23 watts actual I just bought them, but it came in a 4 pack so i have 4 bulbs in total.

Are the bulbs 2700k or 6500k ? From what I've read here, using both 6500k cool whites and 2700k soft whites from start to finish give the best results. From my own experience the plant loves both. It grew like crazy during veg, I'm just two weeks into flowering as of 8/07/2012 and using both spectrums, pistils everywhere and buds forming this is my first indoor grow - Best of luck.

those are exactly the same CRI as my older home depot cfl's, which leads me to believe probably the same manufacturer, just a little snappier rebranding
they are a fine bulb for veg, at least that's been my experience

just flip the bulbs over to 2700k, i like the GE soft white for flower, personal preference
results vary from strain to strain, last grow look like about 22 grams of dry trimmed bud under 78w of cfl's
better grows crack the 1 oz barrier, but so many variables, strain, light, nutrition, ...

ok well this first indoor grow is gonna be a test, hopefully i get females out of the seeds. I will hopefully make a journal for this grow.
I've broken the 1 oz barrier outside.

hmmm they look good I might have to go to my local walmart and pick some up, have you grown with them before?
everyone has used the little 23 and 26w cfls...it's what most of us use still. if you have an option between two brands go with the more expensive or better brand name...they run much less hot.
