Need some starter tips on Hydroponics in general.

I have constructed my own little hydroponics Ebb & Flow system and I'm wondering how exactly the timing works. I used a simple 18 gallon storage tote and an underbed storage container. Im just basically looking for the basics. The only nutes I have purchased at the moment is http://www.igrowhydro.com/Dutch-Master-Gold-Grow-A-B-1-Liter.aspx and I'm wondering if I'll need more. Lights and the general soil growing I understand but I'm unsure of how the timing works to fill and drain the table and how often. Any help would be much appreciated.

Irrigation is heavily dependent on medium you'll be growing in. Rockwool you can generally flood once a day; expanded clay is difficult to flood too much. Any idea what medium you'll be using?

Hydroton only atm. Got a setup for 8 medium plants.

I flood hydroton 4x/12hrs. I used to flood 6x/12hrs, but tiny plants were looking a bit overwatered. Flood up to the overflow and set that as high as possible, but I'd advise not flooding for more than 10 minutes not including drain time.
