About the dome. You don't need it if the clones live. I don't use one myself. Tinfoil don't hold up long for anything but if the hot air is going out your good to go.

I use a bubbler. cost about 20.00 to make. If you have a air pump all it would cost is 5.00 for what ever you don't have around. I'll posta pic of mine it's hillbilly but works great.sorry kinda crapy pics.

oh so far I use tap water nothing else. They root fine even fast in this set up.roots in 5 days can plant in about 14 or so days. had a problem let a batch grow out in the cloner and ended with some root rot. I did start puting two drops of super thrive in the water don't know if it helps but it don't seem to hurt.

never hear about using tin foils as vents.. interesting.. don't see how that can work, but i it works for you.. cool...

to help your plants handle higher temps.. make a DIY CO2 generator...

well i use a humidity dome and rapid rooter blocks from general hydro they are perfect for soil and hydro aplications. and i get almost 100% seedlings and clones root and thrive. make sure when u clone to use a clean razor blade and not scissors. good luck

foil is cool you can mold and shape it to anything it's just weak stuff to work with I use news paper and glue water "paper mache" to make all kinds of crap

I'm a hillbilly at heart and like to diy stuff just to if i can make it work. got lucky on this cloner. was trying to clone in soil and it sucked read some posts and built this one. going for deep water hydro I think. seems like a big ass bubbler.

so this helps you clone... i don't understand... please explain....

the only thing i knew about cloning was using root hormone or just plain water... what is the point of the contraption...

once you explain it... people will understand... if you're only going to say things like "you can use tinfoil and a fan to make a cheap vent"... it doesn't help people understand.... it has nothing to do with imagination... it has to do with the ability to communicate clearly

what i'm asking is... instead of hormones for rooting... do you just really use the bubbler and water to help your clones(fresh clippings) grow roots...

In a nut shell. I take the clone cut wrap the stem and stick it in the cloner. Add tap water turn on the pump and in a few weeks plant them in a pot.
