Need suggestions on how to monitor & remotely control my lights, heat, and AC.

As the title of my post suggest I am looking for advice on devices I can use to help automate and monitor my grow room heat, AC, and lights, remotely in my outbuilding that I have converted into a 16'x16' grow room seperated into seperate veg and flower rooms.

The building with my grow room has internet connectivity (via a wifi repeater) and I have a laptop setup in the room that runs 24/7 monitoring temps that I can log into and control from the house via remote desktop. So far I have found inexpensive temp & humidity USB monitors to be great for monitoring my temps remotely. However with winter quickly approaching I'd rather minimize my trips out to my grow building and I am looking for ways to control & monitor my heat, ac, and lights. My heater and AC both have thermostats, but I find that they are not nearly as precise as I would like, and I am constantly having to manually adjust thermostats as the outside weather fluctuates. On very cold or very hot days I find myself having to turn the thermostats up/down depending on whether the lights are on or not, and making several trips out to my outbuilding a day to keep temps in line.

Ideally I'd like to find some sort of devices I can use to remotely control my thermostats, remotely setup or change my light schedule, etc. If anyone has any suggestions on how they accomplish keeping their temps inline remotely it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

if you get a unit to plug your lights into a dmx controler then there`s an app to put that onto your iphone you can see if their on and turn them on and off anytime and make a lighting program.

For the heating and vents I think you should be able to get a usb thermometer that rigs up to your internet and you can log on and check it form anywhere then ac wise you can get some kind of remote control computer internet system

That or just buy a more complete habi stat control unit, they do temp ones and stuff just depends on your budget, they have an amazing hidden weed lab in the uk for some kind of medical research that has some crazy automated grows

if money is no option then get a 360" unit they can grow loads in a pretty small space and they can be set up to do most of the work plus the lights are always on so you just need temp control.

I'm looking for the cheapest solutions possible that will work, and that I can control remotely. Unfortunately I am not a computer programmer so as cool as advancednewbie's setup would be, it's out of my league.

Then you want some kind of dmx system that plug into a wireless net work, do you have a smart phone ?

I`ll try to dig up the link for the software should not be too hard to get it to control everything else but a habi stat is good enough for temps I mean they use them to keep animals set ups alive and most of them are far more delicate then a healthy plant.

If you had a system made up of different colour emitters you can even balance the colour spectrum with it, man wish I had a weed lab that had fancy remote controls and stuff instead of me with old 2L pop bottles and a ph pen............ a man can dream lol

i can view my room camera, change temps and change dehumidifer via my phone or tablet using an ir to wifi converter and an app. anything that has an ir remote can be controlled this way and rather cheap.

@superstoner1 and I thought the remote control on my arizer was pure brilliance you put one on your grow do you get stoned and just turn the fan on and off for hours and hours ?
