need tips to hot! 400watts

i think im gonna get a 4in inline vortex fan for exhaust and put the 6in and 4in for intake. Seems like my room is still to hott, it stays around 85-88. i want it to be around 75. once i put my carbon filter on it will make it even hotter because im guessing it slows down the exhaust fan. thats why i want vortex fan. think a 4inch inline vortex be good enough or should i got with 6inch? and are the 6in&4in duct fans to much for intake?

oh yeah, im also thinking about trying to make my own air cooled refelctor. been doing some research and seem like this will cool my room plenty. but will it cool my room 10 degrees?

here are some clone pics, its been about 15 hours since i cut them and they are standing up more then yesterday so i guessing they are doing good. what do you all think?

seems like you got your temps under control...

if you want to bring your light closer, use a cool tube... check my sig for a DIY...

I have a 36x20x60 tent with a 600 watt HPS, 10" from my plants... no heat issues... just explosive growth like only 19,000 lumens per sqft can deliver...

best of luck...

after this grown im going to get a cool tube bulb just seems to help alot. also gonna grow less plants maybe 5 or 6 instead of 8. but ill decide for sure after this one is done. oh yeah and gonna get a clone box also and im thinking of mating diff strains see if i can come up with my own strain. but only time will tell....

here are the ladys i took screen out , gonna tie them down instead.

if you cooltube your light your temps will drop 5-10 degrees and you'll be able to put the light very close to your plants. it's a great investment.

you want something that has high CFM's, i'd say 400+, that thing from home depot is like 275. weak sauce, i have one too i found out the hard way

there is one on ebay for 199, it pushes 630cfm, i plan on trying it out when i get some doooolars

yea im gettin a 600 watt aircool light this friday. after this harvest i plan on getting a inline can filter around the 500-600 cfm's to attach my carbon filter and my aircooled light. guys think it will work? have my carbon filter at one end of the refelcter then the inline fan at the other end pullin air throught and out the roof.

yes, i believe the best place to have your blower is before the reflector blowing air OVER the bulb (butt end to tip of bulb glass) then maybe an exhaust booster like that from homedepot

like this? ( carbon filter )===ducting===[ reflector ] {inline fan}===ducting===*outside*

It would be best to keep the cooltube separate from the whole grow space...

If you use your exhaust as the intake for the cooltube, you are blowing warm air over the bulb... which will allow the glass to become hot and thus defeating the whole thing.. to a degree...

It's always best to use a dedicated fan, and ducting, in fact isolating the cooling system for the lights from the room....

You can do what you are proposing, but it is by far NOT the most efficient...

Here is what Al B. Fuct drew up...

Best of luck... :joint::peace:

Just remember the cfm of the fan must be less than the rating on the can filter.

I run mine the same way.
