I would use the happy frog its better adding some perlite helps but increases the amount of watering . These soils have fungas knats in them as most
now days Put some mosquitoe dunks in your water and crumble some up and put ontop of the soil and you wont have them.
Its just a bacteria that kills them harmless to people 10 dollars at home depot usually in the fertilizer isle..
Best of luck

Happy Frog is fine for seeds in my experience as well, though I would prefer Sunshine Advanced Mix #4. Actually, would at least mix HF (or perhaps even Ocean Forest) with the SAM#4. This is just about the easiest way to adjust the characteristics of your mix; or lighten up, dilute or improve a more exotic, hotter pre-mix such as Ocean Forest while reducing the over-all soil costs.

It you cycle the FFOF for a few weeks before you use it, it won't burn. I start my seedlings off in FFOF and they NEVER get burned.
I even amend it before I use it, so I pot up into a FULLY LOADED soil bro. Just have to water it and turn it for a couple weeks. I go a month before I use mine just to be safe.
Any cheap organic potting soil will be good for the first couple weeks, so you can just pick up a bag of whatever and use it for the first two weeks, then transplant to your FFOF :joint:

So u sayin that the seeds can survive in any soil 4 the first 3wks then transplant to ffof and have no probs at all. Last year used mg seed starter and transplanted and they didn't do so good.

Yep that's what I'm saying. MG Organic Potting soil worked for me once, and so did Whitney Farms Organic potting soil.
if you can't find anything, cycle your Fox Farm Ocean Forest than use it. Of the 8 plants I'm growing right now, I started the big thee in Whitney Farms because my FFOF hadn't sat long enough yet to cycle and I had NO BURN.
The smaller 5 that I'm goring were all started in FFOF without any burn, and they grew faster than on MG or the Whitney Farms.

And I'd transplant between weeks 2-3. Not give a full three weeks. Your plants should be ready for more nutes sometime between 2-3 weeks. That just based on my personal experience :leaf:
