Curious to see how this goes... I had the great fortune to have a flakey a/c system... I have literally had the maintenance people in here 4 or 5 times to fix it in the last couple of months during my grow... and i put the plants in the bathroom with the central a/c unit during the dark hours 
The grow room is right next to that bathroom... needless to say, had to do quite of prep work and moving around every time that fucking a/c broke... they finally replaced it completely like about a month back.
A landlord could also get a locksmith rather than break the door down and a lot of locks can just be disassembled. In some leases, changing the existing locks is a violation of the lease (it is on my new one but I'm going to put one on my grow room anyway). I miss the days of living in my own home growing... when the only thing I really had to fear as far as being busted was my daughter finding it. Never worried about it otherwise.
