Need to upgrade tent size, question about ventilation

Hi all,

I currently have a 5x5 with an AC Infinity 8" exhaust with oversized 8" XL carbon filter. I have a 6" intake hooked to an inline HEPA filter box. Both are outside the tent and have at least one 90° bend. I try not to run them past speed 3 as past this point the sound reverberates upstairs to my main living area.

I need to upgrade to a 4x8 instead, so roughly 25% more cubic feet. My question is can I keep this setup with the larger tent at the same speed (is this enough air exchange?) Or do I need to upgrade to a 10" exhaust? I get a little confused with the cfm ratings once filters are added, especially when using mismatched sizes at reduced speeds.

Any help is appreciated!

If you only go as high as 3 now then it should work fine. Any bends in flexible duct can cause noise/whistling. Here's an idea, suspend fan from ceiling above tent, box around with cardboard and insulation too greatly reduce noise. I like my AC infinity fans but if I only had one and depended on it I'd definitely get a back up. Good luck

Yes but will I be able to keep them at speed 3/10?
Do you run A/c, dehumidifier etc?

What lights? How many plants?

Assuming you will be doubling your light output you have currently with the bigger space?

Unfortunately there's no space between the top of the tent and the floor joists. Rigid ducting is definitely a good idea.

No AC, this summer was... challenging. Dehumidifier in the lung room and I run a humidifier in the tent at times.

I currently run a 480w QB and two 240s, which isn't the best footprint but it's what ive been able to piece together. I'd probably add another 600w or so.

Well all things being
equal it will stay the same.

Your lighting suits your new space better anyway

I think that you could make some small changes to be able to make that fan still quiet on a higher speed. Lets see some pictures of the setup??
