need true good smart expert help.

my room is in budding just started 12/12 have 1000w of soft white cfls all around the room for extra lighting and 1 400w hps in the center of the room right now. i got a 400w mh should i add it too next to the hps lamp or not use it during budding at all. i know thy make a conversion bulb for the mh to a hps but dont have the funds just right now broke as a joke!! good or bad on the buds? thanks guys!!

I really hope that you meant you have 100 watts of CFL's all around your room
If you are seriously using 1000 watts of CFL's you are really wasting power
You could eliminate all your CFL's for a 600 watt HPS and it will give you much more light and it will use 400 less watts

lol your right bro naw its 8x150s about 40w each sorry about that. thats a 320w all together. would i even need the cfls with the 2 400w? small room 8 feet tall 7feet wide 12 feet long. so its a yes with the mh lamp.

I'd recommend 2 400 watt hid lights. Probably worth the investment.

Who did you hear that from?
HID lighting is the absolute best lighting there is
Metal halide for vegging and high pressure sodium for flowering
Ditch the CFL's and replace with HPS, you will be much happier with the results
Who told you HID lighting was bad? Kick them in the face

Hid lighting is awesome except on maybe a 1 plant grow. Basically CFLs compete with everything except maybe a 600 or 1000w hps/mh

I would recommend getting a 600w hps as these are the most efficient.

If you have a cool tube for your 400 you can practically get it as close as a CFL anyways. If you are sucking the heat off your lights get more HID if you arn't dealing with the heat well then don't

Get as much light in there as you can. MH and HPS both work for both primary and secondary growth but MH tends to keep node length shorter.

Mixing MH and HPS is the ulitmate combo. Best of both spectrums. Use em both and watch your babies fall in love.
