I would say yes, remove the bottom quarter of growth i.e. bottom 4 nodes er branches. That will export all the future growth towards the top and biggest buds. I do the same for my outdoor every year. And ventilation in the middle is Key even for indoor. Here a pic of my girls today in the back Backyard.20190822_153354.jpg 20190822_153354.jpg 20190822_152542.jpg 20190822_154131.jpg 20190822_152333.jpg

I would prune them in a few weeks for airflow purposes.

Personally I get my biggest buds off plants I’ve left most of the fan leaves on. Prune the lower branches and tuck fan leaves. They’re where the plants go for emergency nutrition. They’re the engines driving the plant.
Really? I feel opposite. Honestly tho, its been quite awhile since ive gone w out defoliating. The leaves would def help if a problem occurs tho. Either way, definitely good advice for a 1st grow.

I like to defoliate them alot. As its ur first grow tho, i would probably only trim leaves directly covering bud sites and some of the leaves in the middle for ventilation. A little at a time as needed. And stop once u start seeing buds.

Outdoors I leave all fan leaves on until the last 3 weeks of budding. Even then, it is selective and solely to get sun to other bud areas that are blocked. Always remember, as you try to get that sun energy to hidden areas of the plant, you are also removing energy by trimming fan leaves. I know my plants very well by the end of budding, so I already have tagged areas I want to trim.

Outdoor plants do not respond well to fan leaf or any mids leaf defoliation. They need those for power, extra nutes storage for later in flower stage. Now indoor grows I can totally see the need for defoliation around bud sites. Indoor grow lighting doesn't roll around the plant every day like the sun rises and sets.

Selective pruning is okay ... no need to scalp them. Also if stems are fairly pliable .... simple LST to “ open “ up a bit .

So removing those fan leaves won't hurt ? How about removing lower branches that are emerging in the lower ( 4th node up branch ). ?
Like these .

View attachment 4384044 View attachment 4384046 So what you have circled is kid to lower fans , right ?
Just trim yer girls bottom bush. And she be standing tall on top come harvest time. [Pending no natural disasters] KOW. Airflow to prevent molds... inside or outside. :peace:

Anything that is less than 40cm from the ground or will touch the ground after a heavy rain remove for pest and disease mitigation otherwise its best to leave them alone. Sun is a bit better than an indoor light and penetrates well.

Oh i thought it was an indoor plant.. good to kno. Makes sense. I have zero experience growing outside

I used to believe that. I was like HOW THE FUCK YOU GONNA REMOVE A CARS GAS TANK AND EXPECT IT TO RUN. well I was wrong in a big way. The leafs and everything all the lower branches are fine outdoors where the light at the bottom is just as strong as the top. But indoors , then again a lot of this is personal preference. A big thing indoors is removing the bullshit too low to really help the plant. I found it hindering. Then again. You can use all those lower popcorns just to extract and again it’s all personal preference. I will say this. Remove fans too early and too many you WILL stunt the fuck out of your plants. But remove em in the right places at the right time and you’ll create less shade. Less spots for pm to settle in. And airflow will be much better. Indoors I know really the top canopy closest to the light is what you want to concentrate on. But sometimes you get plants that just break all the rules anyway bro finding your comfortable grow style is the best thing to do then dabble in pruning etc. most plants I’d say are held back more by shit water. Airflow. Soggy medium and lack of the proper nutes than anything else. Nothing is a definite when starting from seed because really you have no clue what you have til a genetics lab tests it and you work with it for a while . Best advice someone ever Gave me years and years ago was find a good mom and keep clones going. That way once you go through some runs and add something to the nute mix you can really tell what works.

One more thing bro. You wanna put buds into a sock and knock people out in a prison riot.
Add nectar for the gods bone meal. Legit golf ball hard buds. Lol. Best thing I ever did was add that stuff.
Silicium this is another added thing that massively added Weight to my end product. It builds up the cell walls makes em less appetizing to insects and they deal with drought and over watering much better. Happy gardening bud

Ahh the sun. The best light there is. Just as strong on the ground as it is on the top. Otherwise we’d have tans where we got super dark on the chest up but our legs stay pasty white. lol.

I don't go in trimming everything, I will remove as needed. I noticed the plants I grow always cannibalize bottom leaves, I wont even remove those i'll let them suck up all the nutrients until it shrivels and falls off. Your plants look small and short, I wouldnt trim anything yet, I'd wait.
yeah 2 of them are indica , 1 sativa ,
