I've been living in Colorado for a little over 2 years. Have been doing small grows for about 16 months or so of that time. But mostly I spend insane amounts of money on bud from dispensaries.
I recently acquired some equipment that was setup but never used and sat around for a year or so. I added to this about $1500 to round out what I hope will be the grow to end my dependency on dispensaries.
I hope to grow all my own, make my own solventless hash, and produce my own infused drinks. All of which I have tried and failed at in the past, hehe.
Note on the lights:
The lights were among the things I acquired basically free. There are 4 in a square(ish) grid They are 600w HID all MH. Gonna switch to HPS after the plants transition. I only have 1 tent and can't grow in the house currently so I thought I'd be cool and put all 4 of them in the tent. I thought a Y connector and a 700CFM inline fan on each end combined with the 13k BTU portable AC unit would handle the heat. Well it's summer and everything is in a garage so no, this did not work , lol. I'm thinking this might work in the winter, or next time around I could remove the Y connectors, just use 2 or 3 of them in a single string. HOWEVER, currently only 2 are on at a time and they alternate every 3 hours(with a 15 min overlap). I am aware of all the downsides of this but it's what I'm going with for now.
Note on the AC/Swamp Cooler:
I am growing in a detached garage with finished walls but no ceiling and it's summer. The plan was to keep the portable AC inside the tent but this didn't work and had some complications so I've done what you see currently. The portable AC is inside that large wardrobe box. Also inside the box is an intake filter that feeds the tent using a 400cfm fan. I'll not go into much more detail unless someone wants but I will say I just got the parts to also pipe the A/C motor intake air in from the outside of the box instead of how it is now with only the exhaust. If that makes sense, lol. ANYWAY, the AC feeds into the tent behind the swamp cooler, which is there to add humidity and also helps with cooling. For those that are wondering, yes there is also a 400cmf inline exhaust running all the time so the EC can function properly(also for smell). And yea, with the AC I should prob just run sealed with CO2 but I'm not so yea, lol.
