Negative effects of hard water and why?

so hard water has an ass load of calcium and magnesium in it right? i thought plants needed ca and mg????

If you are running hydro you will want to use a hard water micro.

You do want both with in reasonable amounts, to much of either will cause a lock out of the other as well as other nutrients.
