Sorry about your dad man, that's sad. I will blaze one down for the both of you tonight! Much love!
Your dad is very proud of you right now!!! Way to handle this like a man! +rep bro! Thanks for all the advice and good wishes. This is what I did. I wrote a letter and put it on his back door. No sigs or prints, nothing to really trace but here's what it said:
I just wanted to let you know that what you took out of my backyard was for medicinal purposes. You see, my Dad recently passed away from liver cancer and could not metabolize traditional pain medications. He spent months suffering before he died but he always looked forward to smoking a little herb as it was the only thing that helped him eat and stay optimistic. The plant that was taken was his last plant and was being brought to harvest to share with his friends and family at his upcoming memorial service. Many people were looking forward to sharing in this last memory of him- with him. You see, he put himself into everything he did and this was the last little bit of him that we had left.
Please know that there are no hard feelings as I understand the nature of the game but also know that you have taken something more than just a plant, you have taken away memories that will now never be made. Enjoy the smoke!
There was also a peace sign at the bottom of the note that said "Happy Holidays".
My neighbor came over the next day. As it turns out, he was pissed by what happened. As he tells it, he had "company" over for the holidays and one of his Grandson's friends took the plant. He says he did not know anything about it and if he did he would have kicked the kid's ass himself. He is not a smoker but doesn't have a problem with it as he partied plenty in his day. He seemed very genuine and put off by the fact that one of his guests was on my property. He assured me I have nothing to worry about in the future. The kid got rid of the plant that same day. Apparently his older brother helped him with that. No luck getting it back.
Anyhow, at least I know what happened and got some peace of mind. The old man next door turned out to be pretty cool. He's a Vet and I'm sure we will get to know each other a little better now. Funny, he actually kind of reminds me of my Pops. Crazy, maybe things really do happen for a reason.
... I have to admit... this is funny.... sneak into his house at night and mix up his medication or something bro. dont go out like that....
