Day 9:

Temps: +- 20 °C

I gave her a good watering yesterday morning and now she's really getting into it! =d

Problem is this weekend I'll be gone until wednesday! :c Hope she isn't too dried out by the time I come back. I'll give her a good watering right before I leave.

looking good man, will you turn the bulbs on their sides during flowering? i heard that maximizes the output because there is little to no lumens coming out of the ends of cfls.

I've been thinking about mounting them sideways but it's not possible I'm afraid :c Gravity isn't on my side since I can't find solid fittings, only cords.
But no lumens out of the top seems a bit strange because when you point it at the ground you can clearly see the the spot that is most lit is the one underneath the top of the lamp.
Which seems logical because most lamps are mounted that way... But that's just my guess, maybe I"m completely wrong.

Might be worth looking into, small grow youll want to maxamize your light output for decent buds. Makes sence there is more area space on the side of a bulb then the top.

There are socket adaptors that you can run right into a plug. Maybe grab a few, run a power bar along the top and plug them in? It would also open up some more room for buds. Just a thought.

@ilyaas123 The pebbles are for better water drainage, stagnant water in your roots can cause mould and other nasty stuffs.

@JohnDoeOntario I know but I can't find those plugs anywhere

And don't really want to remount the power brick... But thanks anyway =D

And I'm actually not sure if the lamps give more light trough the sides, if you point them at the ground, you can see they shine the brightest from the top, which makes sense because that's how they're mounted in a normal lamp or what ever. I'll be heading back to my apartment today, some pics will follow soon

Day 13:

Temp: 14 °C (bit chilly aint it)

So I came back from being away for 4 days and my lady is doing great!

3rd set of leaves is now out and looking beautiful =D
I did spot a little bit of brown on the tips, hope it will go away with a good watering.

Check this out, this is how I'm running a Critical & Haze Autoflower. I have the lights about 2.5 inches above the plants.

All these designs are great but rely on the adapter thingies, which are unfindable here... and also I don't think my case is wide enough to fit the power brick, adapter and bulbs. Don't really want to put a lot of effort in it to realize it doesn't fit...

But thanks anyways for the tips

I wish I had a minifridge... would be hard to hide though...

well the next best thing would be what i use, which is splitter that allows you to use two bulbs in one socket, it puts the bulbs at a 45 degree angle, not as good as flat horizontal but better that straight up and down. you can get those just about anywhere like walmart or ace hardware, for a few bucks a piece.

Day 15:

Temp: +- 20 °C

So on the bright side, she is growing steadily!

On the down side she is looking kind of battered... The brown spot hasn't gone away yet and another one has appeared, also the right leaf is all curly...

So I need your expert oppinion on this, my guess is slight overwatering or maybe the lights are too close. They are at the moment about 10 cm above the plant, it doesn't feel too hot when I hold my hand above her.

I haven't found a ph meter yet, I'll look around some more, should I get one for water testing or soil testing?

well you could either get a soil tester and spike the medium to test it or you could get the hydro ph test kit and test the runoff, not sure which one would be more accurate, but both fairly cheap.

So I got lucky!

Went to the hardware store and they just had 1 meter left in stock, it's one that works for both aswell =D I'll test the soil later on when I do another update.

It's some sort of nute burn on the tips. Happens to me if I water my youngins a little aggressively. Learned this with my first few seedlings. No harm no foul, she'll grow to be a great lady some day. Just be careful when watering young girls in hot/nuted soils.

I water her with rain water, so I just wait a little longer between waterings? I do feel I've watered her a bit too often for a seedling.
