I've got a bubble cloner than uses small net pots, 2". WHen transferred to my RDWC system that uses 5" netpots.
On this (1st) occasion I snipped the small netpots around the base to allow the roots to be unrestricted, and then put them in the 5" pots for the RDWC system. As the "seedlings" had been stuck in the cloner for so long (the previous crop was flowering way longer than planned) teh roots were huge, so I cut small holes in each 5" pot to let me pull through the bulk of the roots so they could reach the water in their buckets.
Question:
Did I need ot snip the small pots or would the tap roots eventually snap them anyhow? or does it restrict growth?
