Never changing the reservoir

my longest was 2 months...

then with some newer plants i was getting some nute deficiency problems, so I changed the res.

I think I should have been adding some MagiCal, CalMag, or Epsom Salts and I would have been able to keep going. 55 gallon res. If it looks like a lot of particulate matter in your water, change it

I also dont change my res, just top off with nutes and water. I couldnt see throwing away money by changing every week or two. I think it works better for myself. My grows have improved since i started not changing the res. The last two weeks i just give them ph'd water. Never had any odors coming from my buckets that im aware of.

I don't change my res unless there is a problem like a bad smell. I keep it topped up with fresh water and monitor the salts with PPM meter and add nutes as required. Been using the flora nova series from GH

I reminds me of the shampoo salesman who met the advertising executive. He was depressed because his sales were declining. The advertising exec tells him that he can double his sales with one word if he can have a free bottle. The salesman says ok, so the exec takes out a pen writes on the shampoo bottle and hands it back. When the salesman looks at it he sees that the instructions have been changed from: "Wash and rinse." to "Wash and rise. Repeat."

Cheers,

My yeilds have increased since i dont change anymore.
Then you were doing it wrong to begin with

I tried once to leave it throughout the whole grow and the buds weren't as compact as usual. Kinda larfy between nodes.

Now i run same water thru veg, change at 2 weeks into bloom, then again at 5-6 weeks. Experimented many times and find this is the best for me.

I agree every 10-14 days is overkill

You can disagree all ya want but what works for you may not work for others. When my plants drink close to a gallon and a half a day i just wait til theres about a half gallon left fill her back up top of with nutes and done.

Knowing my luck I would catch some horrible disease if I didn't change/wash the reservoir every 7-10 days... but if I were to one day introduce beneficial bacteria to the system, then I wouldn't change the reservoir so often.

Run for full flowering with no change to tank, 100l res. Running through a chiller 24/7 and kept at 18c Max. Each day 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide added, zero smell, zero bugs, zero problems, we've reduced solution ec slightly each grow to prevent salt build up.
Lots of bubbling throughout the system.

The low temps prevent pathogens from getting going the hydrogen peroxide just kills anything that might get in... So no slime no smell and great harvests.

Interesting... I've been thinking about using H202. I've found an interesting formula that shows just how much to add daily for preventative measures, so I might try... I shudder to think I could lose my girls when I'm so close to harvesting.
