New 500$ Grow Room need advice.

I have been researching marijuana growing for awhile and i finally wanna give it a shot. My roommate agreed to help me.

We have 500$ to spend and i would like to build a 8x6x8 (LxWxH) box i will split into 4x6 rooms. I would like to have a perpetual grow.

My idea is to build the box out of plywood and then cover them with a fire emergancy blankets from wall mart.
I will then use rubbermaid to put net pots in to grow hydrophonically.

What all should i get to build this grow

Net pots
rubbermaids
lights
nutrients etc

P.s. Im really high at the time of wrighting this

500 in Canada or US?

that's some box. figure out how much gear you need, and plan your box around that, not the other way around. using SOG or scrog, you can harvest a nice personal supply in a much smaller space than that piano crate. and think long and hard on your grow partner. does he or she have loose lips? owe people money? like to impress the ladies? for some people, a secret is something they tell one person at a time. a real secret gets told to no one. check your state laws too. if you fill that big box, are you going to eat a bigger charge, and maybe a mandatory sentence? some people split up their materials shopping, so as not to go to the register with a "Grow-Your-Own-Marijuana" set in their carts. its obvious when all heaped together. don't wanna be a killjoy, but these are things, that should be thought of before that ride to Home Depot.

Just curious why are you going hydro on your first grow? I would advise against it unless you have done A LOT of study and research. Hydro requires much more attention and skill then soil. Also, if you develop any issues in soil, it will take a few days for any real irretreivable damage, in hydro that is reduced to hours.

Also Scroglodyte is absolutely correct. IMHO statistically for every person you tell your chance of getting busted increase by 20%. Tell 5 and you will likely be sporting a new orange jump suit. Be careful out there!

goodluck bro....but for ur first time i would use alot of good soil and water n light then move up to everyone studys about growing but u never know til you "do"

CFLs go in the 3x3 for veg, 600w in the 4x4 for flower. Pretty sure the tent will work better and most likely will be around the same price as 2x4s, sheet rock/plywood, silicone, reflective material...

for 1k i can point you in the direction to get a 2k 4x8 tent sytem, 2 light 2 hoods filter/fan, timmers, bulbs, hangers

I built a 2x6 box for my closet out of plywood because no tents fit, with everything included light, fan, filter, wood, soil, pots, and screws it ran me about 600, just food for though.

500.00 will go real fast and it is amazing what you will have to spend money on.. I hard plumbed air for airstones in one of my rooms and that was 275.00 when you get all those fittings and adapters... good luck, but I think you need to increase your budget if you want be able to make a return on your investment.....

Soil is a lot more affordable. If you can find a used cabinet for your space it would better as well because it does look less suspicious. Privacy is the big thing, you need to really sit down with your roomate and let him know that He cant bump his gums about this to anyone as this is the main reason people get caught. I just put around 7-8 hundred into my growspace I just started https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/497095-if-something-worth-doing-its.html. Check it out maybe you can get some ideas from my set up. But the main things to worry about first Id say would be, Fresh Air and exhaust, your lights, [Im using compact florous for my veg box, and hps for the flowering room.

personaly if you drop 700 for a cfl grow your wasting your money you can get a real grow set-up fot the same amount if you look around, you should do some more research and locate your equipment from better sources so you get maximum light and quality product for the dollars spent, before you drop $700 for a grow that wont produce any high quality smoke

a few of these from lowes or home depot i bought a 50' roll for $45, will not use anything else ever shit is way durable.

this leaves you with 200 for your pots and other supplies which is super easy to find cheap

I am going to + rep you and I will tell you why. I thought for sure when I read the title to your thread you were another know it all noob and I came in to chuckle at the arguing but by the advice of more experienced growers you have decided to totally change your plan. I am very impressed that you took the advice of others and I think you will have a much better grow and a more positive experience for it. A bit of advice, dont start your perpetual yet. Build a box first, do it right so as to make sure to get something out of it, not all your money spent on a poor harvest due to not enough equipment. Build your box from wood, fuck tents. Use 2by2 firring strips and thin plywood. Get a 600 hps, air cooled, a good inline fan, get soil or promix and your pots. Get a liquid ph tester, a 3part fert series, cal mag, and some neem oil. If you have enough left over, build a clone box from a storage tote with two large air wholes cut in and a two foot t5 mounted to the ceiling. Its a cheap and effective way to clone amd vedge babies. By going just for a bloom box forst you can ensure you have all the stuff yoh will need. Better to get less, but all you need than more and miss some stuff and have your harvest show it. I'd suggest replacing the fire blanket with reflective insulation sheeting at lowes, its like $10 for a bigass roll of it.

dont drop 700$ on a CFL grow...
If you're going to spend the money for proper ventilation, run a HPS for a bigger harvest. You seem to have the space for it.

CFLs are more for small spaces where you cant control the heat
