high fellow stoners i am starting a garden for the first time and was wandering if any body could tell me if flourecent lights will produce enough light to grow buds with or do i need metal halide lamps its a small garden two to four plants at a time please help

Yes, you can grow with flourescent lights and the more, the better. 6500k for veg, and 2700k for flower. There's a whole forum section on this site just for cfls: https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/
