hello fellow rollitup members got a problem just got clones, over feed them so now waiting for 4in pots to dry, they look really bad. i mist them with 5.5 - 6.0 ph water only, my room temp is 26-32 but humidity is at 20-25, and they are under 1000 watt HPS, 1 meter away from the plants. any help would be great thanks

Ok...Im a newbie to the forum but Ive been growing for a while. CLONE"S LOVE HUMIDITY! 20-30% is too low in all stages of growth, even flowering! Let it get humid, 80 to 90 percent for clones is ideal...remember they dont have roots to take up water...so if they air around them is realy dry...they in turn dry out from over transpiration. If you have flourescent lights...use those for clones instead...a 1000 watter is extremely bright for the tender little clones. The 1000 watt is also making the humidity in the room go down. Flouros produce virtually no heat. Take a look at my Gallery, I've only got a couple pics in there....(but they say a thousand words right?)

You might even consider just starting over...its always easier to start over with healthy plants than it is to nurse sick ones back to health! Not to mention stressed plants take longer and don't perform as well...so yeah...I'd start over...

If you chuck these plants and start over without knowing what the problem is you might ruin the new plants too. Maybe shield the plants with netting or something like white plastic to cut the light. Make sure there's ventilation. And NO nutes, there's plenty in the soil. Wait til they look real healthy to add ferts.
Plants are very forgiving, they often recover regardless of what we do.
Good luck.

These clones can be saved, but you must work fast.

Make a clone chamber out of a 32 gallon plastic tote box. Use a couple small CFLs inside the box. Two 18 watt bulbs would be fine. Put a quarter inch of water in the bottom of the tote. Mist the plants every 4 hours for 5 days. Keep the light on 24/7. After 14 days you will have good roots and can increase the bulb size and mist less often.

If you continue this way, you will watch your clones die. You must change your approach now, in order to save them.

Good luck, MB

I missed this post...this would realy help your clones a lot. This post is dead on...if you cant get Cfls soon...put the clones on the perimeter of the light foot print...ya know..right where the light from the hood is its weakest, while still getting light....that would be the next best LIGHTING option...but not much is going to beat the box mockingbird desribes above....

I think a 1000 watt hps is a little over kill. You should have some cfl's or t5's for the first week or so. Then you can lay the watts to them. Just my thoughts though.

Mist them after lights off or a while before lights on or else your hps will burn the leaves up if theyre soaked in water
