New DWC Flushing Method What Are Your Thoughts?!?

What's up RIU I've been reading a lot on different flushing methods an I've thought of one an I also seen its been done before with successful results. So here's the method on Day 21 an two weeks before harvest day of flower drain your res and fill it up with plain PH'ed water and a mild flush solution, let your system flush for 2 hours then drain, after drain let your roots dry out soak up oxygen for 4 to 5 days then on the 4th or 5th day fill the res and add nutrient I say about a 1.3 1.2 EC and that's it. The point of this is to get bigger yeild of fruits an it shocks the plant telling it let's drive this food to the core. Depending on your grow conditions this method should work your humidity should be around 50% an room temp around 72°F to 68°F an if you are using CO2 make sure lights are out exhaust fans are off for about an hour this also helps a lot to. So what are your thoughts and questions .......

Well adjusting pH in plain water is a total waste to begin with but let us know how your plants do when you let the roots go 4-5 days of air drying.

I don't think letting the roots dry out will somehow make them absorb more o2.

Looks like they are not using DWC for the hydro plant in the video. Its in some kind of soil-less mix in a pot.

Have you tried this method yourself in DWC? If yes, how are the results?

Ya theres no way you could let your roots go 4 to 5 days without water in a dwc system if your medium is something that doesnt retain water, that hydro plants looks like coir or something that would hold moisture for longer than hydroton. I think if i let my dwc buckets dry out for a full day the roots would dry up and die.

Exactly, i have left my pump off for a few hours before and they did not like that. You have to have a water retaining media.

Dead that's how they'll end up. DEAD.

I got this new method of growing where I start my seeds at 5:00am and by dinnertime i'm hitting the bong.

Couldn't agree more. If I let my roots dry out for 4-5 days the plants done. Why do anything after that you just starved it to death. Maybe go low enough in the rez where most of the roots are exposed but still have something to drink. Otherwise that I can't see this doing anything.

I've had my reservoir go dry before and it takes a week before your plant even looks alive again. That's with less than 24 hours without a drink. I can't imagine after even 48 hours your plant is going to push for more out of shock.

You can run with lower levels of water in the last two weeks. It makes the plants finish like a drought. At least thats what cch2o says. If you try to run a hydro plant with no water on the roots it will be sickly within an hour and dead within a day.
