Did you read Subcool's article on the Cannabis Cup? From his description and pictures of the fiasco all it would take to buy the Cannabis Cup would be a warm place to sleep for the organizers.

if you think none of those breeders are worthy of winning who have gone,that it is an insult to all,did reeferman buy his,did god bud buy theres,did dj short buy his etc etc.ya it mostly is a scam,but the seed sale bussiness on a whole is geared towards strains that come out of hT who i might adds runs the cup.so i find that a lot of people dont mind drinking from the same cup if it suits them.was diesal famous until HT,how many HT articles were done on chemdawg and the legend behind it,didnt HT tell us og kush was the sister or child of the holly grail chemdawg.how many young bucks would even know about these strains with out HT telling them it is the next best thing to seeing god.and then you throw in ed and jorge and you got the holly grail of growing,i have come accross countless misinformation they give,heck even his big book of buds has a lot of stock pics of buds useing filters,who decides who gets praise from the big 3,hT, Jorge and ED,and whats the cost,i know a nice pic will get you into the bud book,because all it is is a bunch of misinformation and pics of buds grown under the absolute best conditions with light and filter here and their.i never saw bud book 2 and 3 because i thought 1 was not much.but its all a big money racket.i can honestly say in todays world i have poped 100,s of seeds,i throw out keepers every 3 months,because i know their are 100,s more,pot is that good today.good pot is every were,if you grow it right and give it what it needs.

Got a link? I went to the cannabis cup in 2001 and I have to say there was def. people trying to buy the cup. Most people I talked to there hadn't even checked out half the entries. IMO Soma's diesel was the best that year but I think Barney's ended up winning which was fine because at least he had one better entries. Anyways 95% of the entries including Arjan's were just good pot nothing I would call special... It was weird because being from the midwest and young I didn't get the best pot at the time so I thought for sure everything would knock my socks off but my uncle whos a grower had better pot then most of them. I loved every minute of the CC but am still surprised that most didn't have better quality weed. :peace:

nobody thinks arjans weed is bad. it is very good and maybe 10 years ago might have been the best, idk, but hes not the top anymore. he makes good bud but no longer is the best bud. none of his stuff sticks in my brain as a strain i want. when i browse through his strains none of them are like wow thats a must have strain or wow that looks so so good. i have grow GHS and its good but not the best. every titan has to fall at some point. he had a good run but now that weed is becoming more and more accepted, more and more people are breeding and they will knock him off his throne.

i have been to the dam a number of times the cannabis in cali is better period. most locale breeders here have lucrative businesses and dont care about the cannabis cup word of mouth is better marketing. not everyone cares about the cannabis cup and also chem dog is not on the level compared to og kush the truths in the demands by real cannabis smoking people not hype.

cyproz i never said green house was the best ,i only said why you call him a bum that elite has him beat yet you never grew elite seeds.i said the 96 cutting of rhino is great weed,i also said i got a lot of great weed from 35 dollar seed packs.i also said i cant stand the name game,HT says it,all breeders have it.Cyproz you find were i ever said arjan was the best and i will buy you the complete seed selection of elite,hows that man.and racer i dont know what og kush is maybe i smoked it maybe i didnt,but what i can tell you only one weed ever stuck in my mind and that was a botsawana sativa it was like being in a 15 dollar opium den,other then that nothing comes close.but a lot of great weed,just nothing like that 16 month flowering sweeet sativa.

Why is it that every Hightimes mag you open has advertisements for BC seeds (every one knows that they are a ripoff) I actually e-mailed the editor of Skunk mag and had a conversation about some of there strains and the ridiculous amounts of THC, yield, and price of some of their bullshit. He basically told me they are a ripoff and Skunk mag does not endorse them. This makes me believe that hightimes will endorse anything just so the money is right. I boycotted Hightimes a while ago and will never buy one of their mags again because they have no integrity.

ya i think the last edition i had a friend gave me it for the Burmese article and it has bc seeds advertisement,and ya they are considered ripoffs,so give HT the money your in,thats it.

Hobbes I was able to read that whole thread, pretty interesting to hear how bunk smoke is floating around Amsterdam its a shame thats been a place Ive wanted to go for too long the Cup was like the holy grail.....................Not no more thanks for clearing us all up.
