New England outdoors 2018

I am new to the forum, but have been growing since legalization. May become a more active member soon, with grow journals and all!

This summer I grew autoflowers on a southern facing balcony and did okay. First round I grew a Fastbuds West Coast OG and a Pyramid Seeds Auto Anesthesia. Both started just before memorial day and finished late July. Auto Anesthesia grew funky, with almost all 3 or 4 finger leaves, grew to about 18 inches and would have probably yielded half an ounce of loose and airy but pretty frosty bud; but I threw it into the bubble hash pile. Fastbuds WCOG surprised me, getting pretty fat buds worth smoking, and yeilded almost 2 ounces (would have been over 2 ounces if it weren't for bud rot, which even in July, was an issue). If I had grown my legal limit of 6 plants, and they were all WCOG, I would have gotten somewhere.
Round 2 started late July as my other plants were finishing; hopefully I could bang out some autos before the bad weather hits, especially if these plants finish as quickly as my last ones. I planted 6 mephisto autoflowers, but lost 4 due to damping off due to august rains and poorly timed watering. The 2 survivors were a Beary White (a limited edition which is currently extinct; very successful indoor grow on this, but that's another story), and Blue Toof Special (recieved as a freebie). Both did decent, but not as well as WCOG in round 1, but about an ounce each, airy and slightly incomplete, but worth smoking. I harvested these at the end of September before forecast rains, fearing the beginning stages of bud rot would explode overnight.

I cannot wait for spring, when I will experiment with photos along with autos, and have ordered a bunch of seeds. I should have saved some shopping, I'm going to get bored when spring rolls around and I already have so many seeds. I got Dinafem Quick Critical + and Quick Kush (an og kush), which are new from Dinafem and are supposed to finish 1-2 weeks sooner than their respective standard versions. I have found absolutely no information regarding these strains except from Dinafem, and they are both 2018 releases, so I will have to document my progress here with those strains next season. I also ordered R-2 Poison and Stumbleweed from getaway mountain, which I had high hopes for, but after reading this whole thread, I'm starting to think/hope/pray these Dinafem Quick strains somehow outperform.

Does anyone know what they are growing next outdoor season? I am curious about any strain or technique to improve my chance of success next year, I put a lot of stock into local insight.

They're out there for sure. Even in MA. We had 2 big busts in my town last couple weeks. (way beyond legal grows). Guess they were making a ton of extracts.

My grow went to total shit this season. I managed about 7oz from 5 plants. Worst season ever. happy I have some inside just starting to flower.

Looking forward, & in response to the Salem stoner... Don't know what for next season. May check getaway's selection. Probably obsession, as it's done well in the past. & white widow... Cause the risk is worth the reward.

I posted this over on Bodhi, but for anyone still around (or not too busy trimming):

So... it's November 4th and this girl is still alive! I pulled nearly a LB from her already. It's also been through a couple of frosts, lol.
May I present on 11/4... Sunshine Daydream:

I know a few of you in this thread have grown getaway mountain gear this year. I'm in Vermont and seriously considering ordering some beans from them. Anyone care to chime in with first hand experiences now that the season has concluded?

I'll conclude Saturday. Got one more light frost Sat AM (number 6), then 24f on Sunday morning will kill it.
Just light leaf burn, there's a bubble of warm air radiated from the house, but the Sun angle is really useless , trees with leaves blocking most direct sun now. These plants are tough, even the weeds are dead now.
The mold came back last week, 60f and 98%RH for a few days in November. It's just endemic this year, just spray and spray.
I really can't make a judgement on any strain, this year is unusual. My tobacco plants turned to black goo and dissolved.

The indoor Downeast Skunk from Getaway was nice lemony fragrant, and ok,racy sativa.
The Goldmine Skunk was bigger buds and better skunk, less lemon. It got rot on the bottom where it had 3 days of wind blown fog congeal, but they were really photo sensitive and flip to flower in no time at all. Kind of unusual, did you notice that from R2 strains, Thumper?

Do you guys have any suggestions on stable mold resistant strains for this area? I was thinking that gms was what I was looking for but can’t say I want to put my eggs in that basket after hearing a bit more about them.

Here in vt we can only flower two plants at a time legally so that has changed how I run. I used to do swamp tubs with photosensitive stuff harvesting mid aug early sept. To beat the weather. Now I’m trying to stay legal with two larger plants.

The GoldminexR2 I put on the porch in spring flipped almost immediately, from 18hrs indoor to whatever hrs outdoor in May., maybe 6-8" strech. The indoor Downeast Skunk went into pre flower in 24-36 hrs, 4-6" strech and full pistils within days. Just a lot of overhead room in the tent that I didn't count on.

Finished up, got 3 gallons of smoke.
2 gallons are quite smokeable,
qts are larfy, bottom shelf
1 gal red is harsh, still aging....maybe destined for an infusion of oil extract and put it in the attic for 6yrs, :???:

Still got boxes of bud and trim that was washed and decarbed in the oven, that is more like mulch than pot after h2o2/ lemon juice/ drip dry/ 235f till bone dry. Made some oil and butter but i may just toss it. I don't need another hobby. Not a whiff of mold after that, though.

Had great luck with Barneys seeds this 2018 outdoor grow. Used LSD and Peyote critical very strong and mild/pest resistant.
Any tips on preserving the frosty trichomes during the wet fall?
