First I would like to say high to all you peeps out there... I have just started growing and LOVE it! I have two little girls that are looking great a grow closet that is comming together (pics comming soon).

the questions

I have 2 t5 that I am using for cloning and was wondering how close they can get to the plants and should they be on 24 hrs or should they be on a 18/6 cycle? I tried to clone some clippings and only had one or two take... I am trying again and hope to do a little better...

the other question is about temp

is 85F to hot? I am just got my venting done and will buy a blower when I get the money... but as it is now most of the day the temp is about 80 to 85....

I am sure some this has been answered in post but I have not found them..

thanks

Hi Midget.

I'm not too sure about cloning, but with T5's you can almost set the bulbs as close to a plant as you like without touching them. I have read that 18 on 6 off is the healthiest lighting until flowering period.

Cannabis can withstand temperatures from freezing to over 100F. If you want to know for sure, it depends on the strand you are growing. Some strands reach their optimum growth rate at 75F, others from warmer regions around the equator reach their optimum rate at 90F.

Increases in growth rate can be seen with cannabis in general at temps over 75F. The average optimum temperature for cannabis is 75F to 80F.
