Howdy all,
I have been growing a single plant outside in a pot so I can move it around. I have taken a couple of cuttings and have made 2 clones successfully. Security is becoming a problem tho. I have an old tv cabinet that I would like to turn into a grow box. As this is my first attempt, I was wondering if some of you more experienced growers had any advise or could help me fill in the holes that I don't know to think about yet.
The cabinet is made of yellow pine. There are 2 compartments with doors on the front. The bottom compartment is 24"h X 36"w X 20"d. The top compartment is 40"x36"x20". I hope these numbers show up on the pics.
I am going to buy a groclone system for clones.
I would like to use the bottom compartment for vegetation, with MH lighting. I don't know how many I need or what wattage to use for the space.
The top compartment is to be used for flowering. (ok the first part anyway) Im not sure the space is tall enough to finish them. Using HPS lights. Again, not sure how many, or watts.
Because this is an enclosed cabinet, I am concerned that the temperature will rise too high, and there will be insufficient ventilation. I was looking over a post by Al b Fuct that shows a low temp bud drier that uses resistors and fans. I was considering using some kind of hose or dryer exhaust tubing to route the warm air in the cabinet into a dry box and to draw fresh air into the cabinet from existing holes/vents for electrical cords, ect... I haven't drawn this part into a diagram yet.
Any help or advise would be much appreciated. Please give me ideas about how to do it better/more efficiently. I would be happy if the cabinet could help yeild 2-3 plants per harvest, so 9-10(?) at any given time dependant on the size and growth stage.
Thanks in advance. You guys are great. I love this community.
