also, if your 12/12 plant hasnt sexxed yet, it will usually take some where around 3 weeks for the plant to mature enough to show sex, even under 12/12... my last round showed me that it took about 2 and a half weeks or so for my male to show sex, and about 3 and a half weeks for my female to show sex under 12/12 from seed... hopefully this answers your question if it hasnt sexxed yet... i read through your journal and i dont think i saw anyone answering that one for you... rep?

yo micro grower i love how mine have 7 and 9 blades on each fan leaf the one smaller plant skipped the 5 leaf altogether and it went from 3 to 7. this is also random bagseed. Have feed her no nutes. I think its the soil honestly. Fox farm happy frog is some amazing shit.

I would hook it up with some rep although it says i gave you some on a previous thread. i was very generous erliar in a thread "how to taste test your buds" it was probably there. evryone in that thread got rep.

yeah i think that is where it was... yeah my soil i am using for this grow is really giving me problems... nothing i cant handle or manage to keep them alive with, its just slow growing this time around... the organic miracle grow has been the best soil i have used so far... as soon as my store carries gardening shit again i will def pick up enough bags of the shit to last me a while... its crazy how much of a dif soil can make... lol... example, cheap soil vs. soilless (hydro)... the dif is incomparable... not saying one is better than the other, but there is a definate difference between the two...

also, it was about the 5th or 6th node it showed... dont know if that has anything to do with its "maturity" its just that is about when mine showed its sex...

give it a couple of weeks before you flower... you want some new good growth from those new tops to yeild the most outta what you just did... imagine that half of the plant as a sprout in terms of size...

OK NormaJean, I'm going to rattle off a few things real quick here...and I meant his in a helpful way!

First, Cannabis can't produce flowers until it has reached sexual maturity.

Sexual maturity can't be reached until the plant is big/old enough to reproduce.

Plants aren't big/old enough to reproduce until they the grow to that age/size.

Plants grow when they are given light.

Giving plants a 12/12 light regimen before they are sexually mature just doubles the time it's going to take to get them there, since they are only getting half of the available light that they could have if run on a 24/0 cylce. Even 18/6 is faster of course.

Long story short, give your plants as much light as you can for as long as you can until preflowers appear. At that time (preflowers are the signal that the plants are sexually mature), flip them to 12/12 to induce flowering IF they are as big as you'd like to flower them.

As far as the FF feeding goes, they ARE ready for nutes.

Use 1 teaspoon of Grow Big, and 1 Tablespoon of Big Bloom for the next 1-2 weeks. From that point until you flower them, increase the Grow Big to 2 teaspoons and the Big Bloom to 2 tablespoons. I throw in a quarter-teaspoon of Superthrive as well, and they love it.

Every 3rd watering just use plain distilled water with 1 tablespoon of Big Bloom as a buffer.

Ph your water before feeding. You'll be needing to raise your Ph with some Ph UP everytime basically as nutes drop your Ph big time. A good Ph pen is about $100.00, and is one of the first 'necessities' that you must have. You should have a small amount of Ph Down on hand too incase you raise the Ph too high.

If you see the tips of the leaves start to brown, or the plants get crazy dark green then back off the nutes and just give plain distilled water with 1 tablespoon of Big Bloom until they start to lighten up again. Eventually you'll develop a 'feel' for plants and you'll know what to give them based on their appearance rather than a feeding shedule which is more of a general guide. This, however, only comes with experience.

that sounds like a shitload of nutes to be starting them on i dont know the dosings but that seems like alot lol. his plants look good i dont see why there would be a need for all them changed and a 100$ ph meter :P as for the 17 days and no sex yet thats either a good thing that its female and just taking longe to show. or you have a light leak and not gettin the 12 hours day to trigger flower

Ok from what i read sounds like i can understand everything. I dont have GH ph control kit and a Hanna Checker(ph). Looking for a tds meter. The only thing i dont have and am interested in gettin is some superthrive. thats just hormones and vitamins right? I will be following or staying close to what you just gave me here. Thanks for the help and i hooked it up with some rep.

O yea i just topped them yesterday how long should i wait before the initial shock of topping is over to start the feeding. or would it be okay to start the feed in about 2-3 days.

the schedule calls for 3 teaspoons at week 3 of growth. My cotyledons are dying off on one of the plants and not the other but i know its time for feedin. so i dont think 1 teaspoon would hurt her at all, considering her sie as well. i guess we are going to find out then.

Topping or cutting anything off of the plant really, doesn't affect feeding or anything really. They are very resilient. Just don't cut more than 20% off the plant a week.

You're right, if he were just starting them it would be. Fortunately for him, he's 2.5 weeks into veg so this isn't an issue. I feed by the instructions I gave starting at about the 4h or 5th node.

NormaJean - expect to start seeing preflowers when the secondary growth gets secondary growth. If that makes sense to ya.

i cut of the 7/8 node leaving 6 nodes on both plants. there growing damn near the same. except today i took a look under the top canopy and just REALLY noticed that her undergrowth is amazing. her ''tear leaves'' are still really dark green. i can have pics up if anyones interested if not no worries.
