New Grow I think I over watered!!

So this is my first grow and from what I have read I over watered my one week old clones…
Here are some pictures of my plants and set up, I have them in a small closet space with 8 cfl lights on 24/7. I have recently repotted them into 10" round pots, and noticed that the roots not the bottom were very fuzzy (not sure if this is mold or just how the roots grow). I repotted them in fox farm organic ocean floor mix and added NO water thus far. I have been struggling with weak stressed out plant for about 5 days, and would love some input on what I can do to remedy the situation.

Here are my plants taken today 3/15/14

You have burnt the shit outta your babes, clones go best in a seedling or neutral mix then after 2 weeks or so , to FFOF with 30-50% perlite, you may try save these by removing from the mix ..washing in air temp water, and placing in a seedling mix or sand until the color returns ...but they may well be to late?

if you used fert, stop. they look burnt pretty bad; i know orgo ocean has nutes in it maybe do what vos said and transplant into something neutral. after doing that i would also spray them with water, cut the tips off the leaves like you would with new clones, put them under a humidity dome of some sort, and keep them at 65 degrees. otherwise you're days away from some dead ass clones. also put them on 18/6 if you can

Get some of that shit vorstok is talking about. Roots will always be fuzzy.. U can easly get them back into shape. if you dont over water and over feed them. But they are starting to look long gone :P

When I clone in my humidome I give them 1/4 strength nutes right off the bat, helps keep em green. When clones are cut they're use to the nute regime from the parent plant so a small amount of nutes wont generally bother them. I've seen clones like that before many of times until I started feeding them a little during the rooting stage. Now that you have put them in some fresh FFOF they will get the N they need but may recover slowly. Just baby them and they will come around.

Hiya globrobman, You say you have over-watered them? How much and when? what size Pot/Container was they in before re-pot?
I could be wrong but Fox-Farms(well ANY) compost/soil mix has added Nutrients..some are considered a Bit "HOT" for seedlings and clones..

What Temps & Humidity Levels have you got in Grow space? Do you have any Fans Blowing Air around? How are the bottom of the pots in regards to drainage? putting them on 18(on)/6(off) would give em a breather and rest.

Whether you go with taking em out(wash) an attempting re-pot into something Neutral OR just Riding it out...Well only you can decide that..

EDIT: When you said you could see fuzzy Roots ~ how much Roots could you see? did you separate from growing medium....stupid question I know but some people might...

Like vostok said(if you do attempt) wash with room temp water to warm-ish and handle with care...not sure how you gonna go after tha Maybe clay pebbles/perlite OR Coco Coir...Hydro? Argh!! Missions...

Peace

Hope you sort

Thanks for the replies! I started them in a neutral soil and never added any fertilizer, but watered way too much. I figured they might need some nutes which is why I moved them to FFOF, also increased the size of the pot thinking this would let the roots get more oxygen. Also the humidity in my tent is very low (aroung 20-30%) as I live in CO a very dry climate; could this have anything to do with the frying of the leaves???

I was watering the clones once/twice a day and at one point was watering until i saw water coming out of the bottom (one of my friends said this was the way to do it…). I started them in 4"x4" square pots. The temps are staying right around 78/80 and the humidity is pretty low 25/30%. I only have one four inch inline fan sucking hot air out the top, but this seems to be creating a nice draft at the bottom of the tent. I have plenty of holes at the bottom of the pot and put rocks in to keep drainage holes open (in the new pots that is).

This might be a dumb question, but if I switch from 24/7 to 18/6 will that mess with the veg stage of the plant??

Also when replanting them I could see fuzzy roots that looked like they were touching the edges of the pot, on the outside of the grow medium.

Again thanks for the help!!

They were in a neutral medium before, which is why I chose to switch to FFOF…is this not a good call??

THanks for the reply!

Bigger pot means the pot will use longer time to dry out if there is no root system there to drink the water. Punch holes in the sides of the cans, that will bring more air into the soil. Here is a tip on how to keep air humid, cheap. Get a hand towel or two, get them wet, hang them close to the area you are growing hang them up and let them dry, switch it once a day and you are gloden. I doubt it will sove your imidiate issues, but will give the humidity you need. Leaves frying and wilting can be a combination of many bads. With the potsize i see you are using in the pictures, i would water once a week or twice depending on how the soil dries up.

dont mess with the ligth cyckle if you dont have to, it an make plants go murphy.

On the whole soil issue. going from neutral (no nutes) to full on nute soil can be bad mkay? Do it in stages. Like first repotting, 2 weeks 1/4, 4 weeks 1/2. Many, including me, dont feed much before flowering anyway :)

Nice reply and advice garden11.(#13)

@ globrobman switching to 18/6 wont harm em at all, and gives em some down time...I used to do 24/7 but since about 6-7months ago switched to timer and 18/6 every living thing needs down time(sleep/rest) and my Ladies look very happy for it.

Hope you sort...

I'm still a Newb, been going over a year and learning New stuff everyday...

For everyone saying Don't change...Blah, Blah, Blah...here's a R.I.U. Thread and if you just Google it, or read some Books? does anybody read Books anymore???

https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/410528-if-im-running-lights-24hrs.html

Some Run 24/7 some 18/6 and some 20/4 But changing the Light Schedule while in VEG will NOT Hurt your ladies and WILL give them a Rest and you WILL see more Growth.

Peace

Experimenting during Veg is how we know about Light cycles, F.I.M, Topping and so on and on and on...if nobody experimented then nothing *New would be discovered ever!

** I have change MY GR to 18/6 and Plants thrived!! Didn't Die, Didn't Wlit, Didn't Hermie...Didn't pack their Bags and F*ck off...

OR become a Muslim OR Scientologist!! which would've be worse(Just) than Hermies...

Was hoping to find the Info that I've come across while wandering the Inter Highways...No luck yet...gonna Dig my books out...

Dark cycles trigger all sorts of hormonal changes and other things like sugar transport and root activity - and I agree with Venom and motherlode here -

Giving plants a 6 hour dark cycle does seem to give plants a bit extra vigor and growth. I also believe dark periods help clones root quicker as well.

I've actually had a few sativas or sativa dominant hybrids that would not grow under 24 hour light.
But I will keep Looking...

ok there are some truths in here but scientifically they will not grow faster! a plant needs the dark period to complete photosynthisis...without the dark period u are restricting the tree from using the energy it gained during the lights on period. its not a bad thing but this is the reason as to why the plant doesnt get much verticle growth. aslo its not true that the plant will 'stretch' more in 18/6 its not 'stretching' its growing! i have tried 24hr periods due to lazyness and not having a timer and imo it takes longer to vege a plant!....the longer the dark period the more the tree will grow vertically. hence the reason as to y they double or triple in height wen u flip it over to flowerin. but think about it a plant does most of its growin wen its dark, and with out the dark period u dnt get the even growth u get really short really stocky trees that somtimes arent ideal. but to each his own!....but truthfully its basic botany, to my an oppinion is an oppinion and will never b a fact. u should look into facts becuase they are proven! oppinions are somtimes not validated and in most cases far off from the truth, its up to us to weed thru the information that is correct.
and no i am not attacking ppls oppinions as some on this thread did infact post some truths

i would go from 24/0 to 20/4 for a week. then down to 18/6 to reduce any stress .. but no if u have happy HEALTHY plants.. a light switch shouldnt do shit.. but unhealthy plants are a different story.
