ok, Im on day 7 since this one sprouted, It is outdoors in a 10 inch pot. It has two sets of developing leaves, as you can see by the pictures, but the tips of them seem to be yellowing. i have applied no nutrients (I need advice on when to start), and I usualy water it about 100-150 ml of water a day. In the past two days, it rained, and I forgot to bring it inside. Also, the cotyledons seem to be wilting and turning white, is this a bad sign? Pics are below, they where taken with my cellphone camera, so excuse them if they are of poor quality.

This is now going to be the most pitiful journal ever to grace this site, a singular plant outdoors. but hey, you have to start some where.

so, the yellow areas arent a bad sign? does this look ok size wise, and whatnot? when do you think I should start nutrients?

hi there, nice little plant

i would cut the watering, i personally like to water quite alot, then leave it to really dry out, so the top three inch's of soil feel dry

i would not add any nutrients yet, its only day 7, so the soil should still hold alot of nutrients, unless you are using really poor soil, then a very very weak mix of nutes will be fine

so far so good

good luck

ok guys, thanks for your input, because I am pretty much flying in the dark (although I have been doing quiet a bit of studying here on this site, amongst others). Keep your comments coming, and I will update the pics tommorow sometime.

do your plants get constant sun in that position?
A good fert I found for outddoors was a Fish Emulsion fertiliser, I waited until they were a bit bigger than that and then started with a very weak mix, they love the nitrogen and if they have plenty of direct sun they eat it up.
Once there into about week 3 or 4 and the crown in the middle starts to develop, prune that out to let the plant develop two main stems which can give a lot more buds than just the one main stalk. Im sure there is all these correct terms I should be using but Its just an idea for you to think about, its worked well for me in the past, just remember when pruning "You can take but you cant put back"

In Grow Faq there is a section on the pruning, under early veg pruning, have a look down the pictures it shows what I mean, but your plants look healthy, I am growing indoors now and after 7 days the growth is nearly double, But if you can only grow outside they look pretty good, with the fish emulsion be careful not to burn the roots though and give plenty of fresh water between ferts you will notice the growth spurts after using it.

ok, heres some pics from today. the first one was about an hour ago, and the other two where about 4. the tips of the leaves are still yellow, but the plant still seems to be growing strongly. as you can see by the picture of the stem, the cotyledons are nearly completely wilted (not sure if that is good or bad).

What type of soil did you use in those pots, was it a commercial blend or did you mix it up?

It was some generic potting soil that I had, cant remember the brand name right now, but I mixed some manure/humus into it, but not much.

ok, the third layer is clearly defined now, yet the bottom layer seems to be yellowing slightly, keep up the comments, I could use the help. I also have about 8 more seeds germinated and planted woot.

lookin like they should grow fairly well, just be sure not to over-water and read around on the forums here... tons of great info :)

ok, had to go away for a few days, but i had my friend take care of them. it has grown a surprising amount. now has four sets of main leaves (only three of them are fully developed) and the third set is showing 5 leaflets. seems to be growing great, seeing as it is probably only about 6 inches tall. does anyone think that it is about time for me to start nutes, or no?

the plant is growing like crazy now. I know you cant see it from the pictures (cell phone) but there are leaves starting to sprout of the each branch, also, a little ways above each branch, there are two little green things coming off, which are only about a quarter of an inch long. can anyone tell me what those are?

on another note, can anyone tell me what species of pot this is? is it predominantly indica, or sativa? I understand that it may be too early to tell.
