I'm seeing way too many spider mites to let it hang for a week while they much theh shit out of the buds so I'd cut the plant into pieces that would fit into a microwave.
Nuked each plate 10 seconds at a time then hung to dry.... I never saw any live mites on the smoke when it was dry!
they definitely all die in the microwave it's just that the dead body's stay in the bud.. it's not a huge deal you can smoke Em all day and you won't get sick.its just kinda gross. He can use a vacuum cleaner with the hand attachment. Suck them in then hang. Microwave will definitely work though it's just impractical for anyone dealing with anything over a few ounces. Especially wet weed that shits big until it drys.

I had to deal with spider mites for 9 freaking months 3 years ago. The yeild for that much time should have been over 5 lbs. They ate the crap out of the plants.
In the end all I got was 12 oz. That was a huge learning experience for me and very costly!

I smoked it all! The herb was Sweetooth. It still gave a heck of a good high.

I've only dealt with mites in new clones from others rooms but spraying (soaking) with really cold water seemed to work well, any one else tried?

Yes but they were young plants that hadn't got that infested yet, it was a recommendation from a long time grower. I've never had them (touch wood) on a mature plant. My biggest bug issue was gnats until switching to hydro. I just sprayed those plants with water to wash the dead gnats off, seemed to work pretty good. Could never get rid of those little bastards lol.

i'd wash those buds. there's a whole article on bud washing with using h202 diluted with water, lemon, baking soda, etc.

its a must for outdoor growers where foliar spray and bugs are present

Not only is your plant ready to be chopped, you don't have a choice anymore. It's infested.

You've said a couple times, you don't know where to cut it. Well, you cut the stem and it doesn't really matter where. At this point, you might want some stem to tie on to when you hang it, you might want no stem and are going to thread the buds with a needle and string. You won't get much more nutrients from the stem to the buds, and so you know, the plant is still able to pull energy and nutrients from the buds back to the stem to seal up the cut (shrinking trichs). Dying in a dark space is key in this. No light or water means it has to use up it's reserve energy, a small left over stem on each bud means that it doesn't have to shift nutrients very far to the so the plant dies quickly stopping attempts at further photosynthesis.

Just so you know, every single person on this forum has smoked bugs in their dope with or without knowing it. Everyone.
