New grower Light answers please

Hi . Can anyone give us advice pls , I got two set ups . One is a big cuboard with one 600w light fan and filter ex and I do two plants and get about eleven ounces off both . My other set up I spent a lot on it . 2 by 2 metre tent 3 1000w gavita lights big box fan and filter, I do 16 plants but only get 40 from all of it , any advice pls on why getting such little crop from it please

No, you can veg with hps just fine, especially if you have a grow type bulb with enhanced blues. Otherwise you can just add a couple cool white cfls to enhance the blue spectrum if you're really worried about it. Lack of blue spectrum in cheaper hps lamps will only contribute to a bit of stretch. That said, I've vegged with both mh and hps just fine. I prefer MH, but either is fine really. Some people like to use MH at the beginning and end of flower as well. It's all totally variable. Simple fact is you can grow A+++ weed with only hps (even with a cheapo bulb) from start to finish.
