Been reading on here and have atempted to start a grow with some bagseed i got from a friend and spend as little as possible on it($10 so far)

It seams to be growing quite a lot like a bush growing in all directions and has fan leaves with 9 points.

This is a under stairs grow :P lol. I have about 4 feet to grow upwards when moved to the proper place.

I have 133 watts of cfl and 38 watts of fluorescent tube
1x 42 watt cfl (on top)
1x 26 watt cfl (back)
5x 13 watt cfl surounding
1x 38 watt fluorescent tube for clones and side lighting
pc power supply with 5 cpu fans for exaust/intake and airflow.
temps are about 28 degrees

i have trimmed a few of the bottom leaves that were getting almost no light any longer. Also I have cut 5 growing shoots for clone attempts witch seam to be rooting. i am using very small halogen lights working off half voltage as heaters for the bottom of the clone containers witch heats the soil and roots for faster growth.

I am atempting to flower one of the clones to check the sex. Its about 8 days into 12/12

Since this is my first time with any of this I don't know when to flower the large one. Its about 1 foot tall right now and about the same width wise with about 15 growing shoots looking healthy.

It has never been topped, and wondering if i should or should have, but i was afraid i would damage or kill the plant as i didn't know enough about it.

Also can anyone tell if its a male or female from the photos? Or even what strain or type it is? I am really in the dark about these things.

Any other tips or advice would be appreciated as I want to do this all right.

First off, Congratz on your first grow. Its looking great thus far. I'd say go ahead and throw her into flower now. She's got some pretty indica ish looking leaves, but I would expect total grow height after 8-9 weeks of flower to reach somewhere between 2 and 3 feet.

Dont worry about topping....

You MIGHT want to put he in a bigger bucket before flowering, a 6 gallon should do maybe. What soil are you in? What nutes? Its hard to tell from pic coloration, but it looks a tad low on nitrogen, however, I wouldnt add any because growth overall look great: exactly what you want in a plant. When she starts to stretch during flowering, you might want to add more light, but its completly at your leisure.

Keep up the good work man.

Thanks a lot,

I will change her bucket to one larger and let it recoup for about a week before i flower. EDIT - A 6 gallon bucket?? Its in a 6" pot right now... 6 Gallon is huge are you sure it needs that?

I am using general Walmart potting soil, i have also been adding slowly miracle grow Ultra bloom 15-30-15 with micronutrients about once a week with its watering, i know its not the right one but I had no cash to get another and my girlfriend already had the stuff. Seams to be working well though.

hahaha. 5 gallon might be good. I have a feeling when you pop her out of that pot, you might be surpised at the root ball on the bottom. The 5 gallon bucket is like, 16inches tall. That gives you 2 and a half feet to grow, which I think you can do. You dont really want to deal with root bind during flowering. I believe that the general rule is like, 2 gallons per foot if I remember correctly.

My last plant filled up a 10 gallon pot, and it didnt break 4 feet outdoors.

Those nutes are not ideal for veg, and geneally people dont like time release miracle grow, but hey, if you got it, go with it. Just try not to overfeed. for the 10 dollar investment you made, you are looking at a hell of a return.

Thanks for the help, I did have a 6.51 gallon bucket to grow it in so i will be transplanting that tomorrow... the bucket is larger than the plant. :)

I need some soil so is there anything i should look for? On a budget too remember.

if you can grab some fox farms happy frog that would be good...its 10 bucks where i live(hippy town)... but any oraganic soil with no time released fertilizers should be very good man keep up the good work

just a little hint.. little advice.. just trying to help here..

little suggestion for ya's.. stop trimming leafs. It's counterproductive. You trimming leafs off such a young plant.. your only slowing things down. Like growth!..? ;)

Just trying to help..

good luck tho.

Thanks all, i wont trim any more leaves, i did only because they were so low and small that no light was getting near them.

Well I re-potted her into a 6.51 gallon pail and it was quite the root ball

Here she is in her new home.

Can anyone tell if this is preflowers, and what sex it is if it is? I know they are bad photos and i will try to get better ones. It does look like hairs but i am no expert.

Well now 3 weeks into 12/12. Find myself getting more and more impatient the closer it gets lol.

Since its my first grow i dont know how much longer it will be, i know how to tell when its ready but can anyone estimate a time frame? I was thinking 2-3 more weeks but really am not even qualified to guess.

Its 2'8" tall and bushy as all hell. It has all but stopped growing upwards for a week. It has 1 main cola, with 26 sub shoots, and 18 sub sub shoots lol. What could the yield be in the end? Anyone have a guess?
