new grower need help

how close can my plants get to the light with out it harming my plant? i have a four foot Florissant light if it makes any difference

hi there im not that sure about ur lights system but i dont think they give much heat from them, but ive read somewhere on here if you put your hand unuder the light and it feels comfortable then its fine. but if its not then adjust higher till it feels ok..... just take this as a pinch salt. but hope it works bro

I use floros and found a couple of my plants actually grown into the bulbs a couple of tiems and never saw any damage to leaves or otherwise. I've kept my flors about an inch off my plants for 2 months during my first grow .... penetration may be less with floros but I've had pretty good luck..... Heat hasn't been an issue in my small grow room until I added a couple of cfl.....

I agree, some down flos...you may get a slower growth rate of your foliage verses a HID (MH) but... they are supposedly responsible for a larger root system...and heat is never an issue. ;-)
